  • Really incredible. Very fresh and lively. A bit reticent at first but with about 30-40 min. in the decanter it became perfectly coherent. Floral nose, long earthy finish on palate. Perfect with roast pork shank. One of the best old barbaresco I've had.

  • The freshest 1971 Nebbiolo I've drunk, warming and invigorating. Double-decanted. Thinner, tea-like but pleasant at first, a sweet, cherry taste. 6 hours later, it became amazingly opulent. Lots of spice, cinnamon and clove smells, some cedar and truffle as well. Later a licorice and sour cherry taste, a more atmospheric (woodland?) nose. There seemed to be so much life left in this.
