  Really incredible. Very fresh and lively. A bit reticent at first but with about 30-40 min. in the decanter it became perfectly coherent. Floral nose, long earthy finish on palate. Perfect with roast pork shank. One of the best old barbaresco I've had.

  The freshest 1971 Nebbiolo I've drunk, warming and invigorating. Double-decanted. Thinner, tea-like but pleasant at first, a sweet, cherry taste. 6 hours later, it became amazingly opulent. Lots of spice, cinnamon and clove smells, some cedar and truffle as well. Later a licorice and sour cherry taste, a more atmospheric (woodland?) nose. There seemed to be so much life left in this.
