Very closed at this moment. Highly mineral, typical PYCM style dominates the palate. Nose was actually great after probably 4 hours but the palate never comes alive to show more than lemon and minerality. Might try again in 5 years

Popped and poured. Full bodied, concentrated, balanced with crisp, crackling acidity. Lemon, orchard fruit, crushed rocks, and a touch of oak. This is in fine shape and drinking at peak right now.

PNP. Medium yellow. Flinty, mineral driven nose, with citrus and exotic notes (dare I say juniper berries). Lean palate, but surprisingly lacking in acidic zing. The palate is spare, lacking texture and structure, redeemed by a lemon rind lifting finish. Gains both complexity and volume as it warms. Good showing.

Sublime Meursault 1er Cru. Medium yellow, with warm gold tones. Nose is rich with petroleum notes at first, then some melon and honey. Palate is clean yet rich (subtly rich...), not much butter in this one, mostly mineral in its character with a touch of salinity. Precise and finely structured like all of PYCM’s gems.

Clear straw, quite pale. Zesty, minerals, white flowers, peach. Powerful but balanced, zesty intensity of stone fruits and minerals, crisp acidity, orange rind. Youthful. Looks to have many years ahead. Probably needs a few years to hit its peak.

Popped and poured, served over a 2 hour period. Flint, tropical fruits, banana and spice on the nose. The palate is reasonably fleshy and boasts a creamy texture that firms with time in the glass.

Corked. My second consecutive corked 2013 PYCM, different bottlings and from different sources. What is up with this PYCM vintage?

Enjoyed by all, including me, but this is still fairly reserved compared to other 2013's I've tried.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Also needing more cellar time. Rich fruit and firm structure that weren't in perfect harmony yet. Slightly backward. All the desired raw materials are here, but didn't yet seem quite integrated.

2016 La Paulee San Francisco - Saturday Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco): Very rich, broad, good acidity, almost over the top. Lacks the definition and cut I'm looking for in a top white Burg.
