Tart fruit is very prominent up front with red cherry, wild berry, and strawberry flavors. Notes of red licorice, baking spice, earth, mocha, vanilla, and some mineral notes. Interestingly enough, still has some firm acidity and tannins left on the end. Alcohol is high but blows off pretty quickly now.

Still a little reserved at this point but shows typical Grenache characteristics with air.... Cherries, clove, earth etc. Good acid and structure that needs time to settle down but otherwise an enjoyable wine from Epoch. Would let sit for another couple of years.

PNP. Still great. Rich red fruit aromatics pop from the glass. Smooth on the palate. Plenty of spicy, delicious red fruit flavors. Finish is long and tasty. 2 thumbs up.

Perfect time to drink! The wine has mellowed and is all together now, with fruit, leather and nuance and verve. Oak is not perceptible and alcohol is not a concern. Red fruit with a hint of bluish fruits and earthiness round this out

100% Grenache here. The tart fruit pops here with red cherry, strawberry, and wild berry up front. The palate consists of red licorice and very nice core of earth and mineral notes. Nice acidity and finish.

More restrained that most Epoch. Needed about 15min in a glass to come together but then was very good. Good fruit with a little earthiness in the background. The finish was medium to long with just enough tannins to give it structure. This seems pretty much ready to go so drink them if you have them.

Popped and poured on Grenache Day, drank over 2 nights. What a treat! Red fruit pops in the mouth. Smooth texture, pleasing finish. Plenty of life ahead, but it's plenty tasty now.

Would agree with Mr. Medoes to some respect. This is still young and the tannins were very apparent. However, there's a depth of fruit and a mouthfeel here that speaks to a very well made wine with excellent fruit. the black berries came out to play after some air, and the paso grenache was front and center with some dark chocolate overtones. This will come into its own after a couple of years. Wish I had more, but 2013 sounds like a good year as well.

Normally would not have tried this yet, but someone's random 100 score keeps making this float to the top of my "sort by score" search. The good news is that it is a solid wine for sure. Unfortunately, it is not a 100 point wine either (seriously, what young Grenache is?).
At open, this is a tannin bomb, with fine tannins really "harshing" up a nice nose from about mid palate onwards. The great news is that time and air fix that up (about 8 hours in my case), leading to an interesting drink. Black and red fruits fight for territory in a good way. This is "light" for a lot of Paso Grenache, likely from concrete treatment, but still not a "little" wine by any means.
I'd give it two more years and up to five for peak ripeness. Pay attention to it though as those tannins are tough ones to catch in the sweet spot.

A very nice bottle! In appearance, much like pinot noir, with clear, light color. Fine texture, with fruit not overpowering. Balanced. Quite enjoyable.

nothing to report here, still a great bottle and sad I no longer have any '12's left.

Overall nice. Oddly enough for me, this would benefit from more tannins. A tad thin by Epoch standards, but nicely structured nonetheless.

Fantastic! Brooding, but elegant. Picking up some clove... maybe. went well with a nice ny strip.

Cant score. Gagging notes of rubbing alcohol. Not sure if bottle variation based on the other scores, but this is pure heat on the palate....

Tart, a little acidic. But layered and multi dimensional. Licorice, kirsche, mineral, and black cherry with velvety tannins and a long finish.
