Popped and poured. This was singing right out of the bottle so probably in a good spot. Dark black cherry flavor with some sweet baking spice notes. Hint of balsamic reduction and a touch of rose petal. Very nice. Similar flavors on the palate with medium+ acidity and tannin but certainly drinkable. Smooth finish. Very nice wine and a steal for the sale price paid.

Spicy and still fruit forward despite being opened and decanted 4 hours ahead of our meal. Strong tannins softened quickly. Powerful without being harsh.

Fantastic QPR, paid $47 for the bottle. Really nice and approachable now as other reviews mention. Pnp and then drank slowly over 3 hours, enjoyable the whole way through!

Opened 6 hours before drinking. Deep red core with gradual fading. Tobacco and discrete red fruit aromas. Light and lively in the mouth with excellent fruit/savory balance and fine acidity. Firmly tannic finish. A very nice lower end 2010 Barolo that is probably only halfway to maturity but accessible enough to drink and enjoy now. Good effort.

Decanted for 30 mins. Medium to light ruby color. Out of the gate, the nose on this was fantastic. Pure red cherries for days with rose petal and cinammon. Eventually showed hints of balsamic toward the end. Lovely. Flavors carried through to the palate with pure red cherry bursting through with more of the floral notes and baking spices. Very young and lively but so delicious. Medium+ acid and tannin. Drinking great now if you are looking for a younger fruit profile.

Nose of black cherry and pipe tobacco. The palate finds good red cherry and tarry fruit and a hint of sandalwood.. The tannins and acid are forward but do not overwhelm the fruit so I found it a pleasurable drink at this stage.

SLDS June 2017 #1: Ash, earth, strawberry and clay. Dark and brooding palate, very serious fruit and structure. Tightens up toward the finish. Good, but certainly needs more time to shine.

The wine needed good 3 hours of decanting. The nose was full of sour cherry, rose petals, balsamic vinegar and dry herbs like mint and rosemary. The taste was austere, intense, elegant and mouthwarming. Really great value barolo. This needs 4-5 years to bring out the best of it.

Decanted and poured about an hour later, this wine gave an impressive showing. The aromatics begin with mix of youthful descriptors, including dark cherry, floral, earth, tar and spice notes. The bouquet initially shows forward accessibility that becomes more reserved with additional airing. The medium bodied palate shows youthful fruit and firm tannins that give structure to the wine. Initially the palate shows youthful accessibility that like the bouquet becomes darker and more reserved with airing. At this stage the wine does benefit from decanting; however, it does develop a more reserved personality after about 2 hours from opening. The wine leaves the impression that it will benefit from additional bottle age.

A very impressive entry-level Barolo that is rich with aromas of wild red and black berries. A powerful, muscular Barolo that leans modern without any excess oak. A wine with a lot of depth and personality with solid structure that should age well. A lot of wine for the money.

Concentrated nose of licorice, tar and herbs; powerful on the palate with generous fruit and some grip at the finish. Not going anywhere for now.

A blend of fruit from the Baudana and Cerretto vineyards, this reveals very good Serralunga typicity and is already beginning to drink well.

Floral duft med hint av et markant preg av mynte. Slank og delikat lett moden frukt på smak med lett tørre tanniner. Struktuert og lang utgang.

Tight. A full-bodied but composed wine, firmly structured, with fresh berry scents and polish.
