Very friendly wine for casual pop-and-pour (or twist-and-pour). The nose does not give much away, but the wine exhibits no reductive notes from the screw cap. Palate is medium intensity, red-fruited, with a very pleasant licorice like element riding gently on the alcohol. Fine balance between alcohol, acidity and fruit tells me that this Zinfandel based blend is finely crafted from quality grapes and the deft hand of the winemaker. Highly recommended for the price.

Violet purple. Easy to drink, rich and somewhat stewed zinfandel. For $12, good value. But it is that- $12 good value in your face, purple colored stewed red fruit, field blend, zinfandel.

Very dark ruby color; tart raspberry puree, baked cherry nose; one note, stewed red fruit, baked cherry palate with what tastes like added acidity; medium finish (46% Zinfandel, 40% Grenache, 5% Petite Sirah, 5% Alicante Bouschet, 4% Sangiovese; 14.2% alcohol)

A very tasty treat! Chased this down after getting mesmerized by a cleverly written email from Gary's. All to often, the hype doesn't match the actual experience. Luckily, in this case it does. Nose is nothing in particular, but once past the lips, you see what a gorgeous blend this is. Rarely does a blend balance varietals in such a way that they can be recognized, but here you get notes of floral/rose petals with both red and dark fruit. Fruit is subtle, not sweet or candied, yet expressive in an elegant way all for about $12. Nice!
Just read that the blend is 60% Zinfandel/17% Petite Sirah/23% field blend of Grenache, Barbera, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignane, but the surprising thing is that this is not one of those dark, brooding, spicy and sweet Zin blends (think Gnarly Head Black), which could be a turnoff to many old world wine lovers. In my view, this blend is much more subtle and old world in style.

Vibrant purple in color, this wine (60% Zinfandel/17% Petite Sirah/23% field blend of Grenache, Barbera, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignane) shows its Zin dominance with aromas of bramble, blackberry, spice and pepper on the nose. The mouth feel is very full-bodied with abundant black fruits and almost sweet tannins. The finish is strong with added hints of violets, black pepper and game.
Purchased for $13US, this NV field blend is an excellent value and perfect for a cold night at home while watching TV and paired with an artisan, meat topped pizza. I'm in for more. Highly recommended.

Red fruits, spice, jammy. Seems more to the zin side than the seventh cuvee, though the nose has a whiff of Syrah to it as well. Call it a Tuesday night wine. Don't think, just drink.

Intense, dark, juicy & spicy. An insane value for the price! The fruit is from heritage vineyards owned by the legendary Bedrock Wine Co.

A fun, gulpable wine. Tastes like a basic CdR, ok acid, a bit of Syrah-ish tannins and possibly some carbonic strawberry candy flavors.

Nice blend of black fruits with some unresolved tannins. Everyone really enjoyed this, as it showed surprising depth. Definite re-buy.

Although lots of zin, this blend comes off kind of Rhone-ish. Great value.
