  • Heading into what will be a period of asceticism on my part, so going out with a nice meal of oxtail stew and this wine. Good match. This has some heft, soft tannins, chocolatey in a good way, but not too much so. It's a wine I could serve to any cab lover blended with some other Bord varieties. I get these as part of my Rockpile Zin membership, but the good news is even these (kind of pricey) filler bottles are delicious.

  • Clear, light garnet. Tar, anise, raspberry. Low acids, no tannins. Chocolate. Short balanced finish
