Decanted for one hour. This elegant Zin hits on all cylinders. Fruit is restrained and in harmony with soft oak tones. Mouthfeel is lucious and leads to a lasting finish of cedar and pepper. This is Zin making at its finest. Bravo to Acorn!

Good, not great Zinfandel. Nice red fruit up front, good acidity on the finish and medium plus weight on the palate. Not 6e fruit bomb that some sins can be. Had with grilled pork chops.

2016 ZAP Trade Tasting, black fruit, dusty earth, pepper, and herbs, more of the same on the palate, touch simple, medium body, tasty but pricey, long finish.

Distinctive graham cracker note right out of the bottle, loads of soft baking spice, fruit took a bit more time to open. Enough clean acid on the finish and fine tannin that this will drink best next year. But it did open and drink well without much trouble. Telltale dill, with purple and black fruits on the mid palate. A soft but balanced effort. The spice element would make it good with braises. On another note, the folks who run the winery are exceptionally friendly. The vineyard is tucked away in the healdsburg area I think, and they have quite an eccentric array of old vines on the property, which make for some distinctive blends.

Drinking extremely well now. Black cherry, plum and blackberry with a long, spicy finish.

Nose:
Roasted raspberries, spicy blackberries, baking spices, dried herbs
Palate:
Ridiculously deep raspberry flavors, a hint of mint, blackberry jam, and sweet sweet tobacco
