My last bottle - not bad, although this has never been my favorite vintage from Felsina. I wouldn't necessarily say it needs to be drunk up, but it also doesn't come across as a wine that will get any better with more time. Better on the nose, which displays more Chianti typicity.

Okay wine from a so-so vintage. Still with decent acidity, but the fruit has faded a bit which leaves it slightly unbalanced - I see that there are still over 300 bottles in inventory, so if you have it, I would check out a bottle soon to see if you're okay with how the wine shows, as I would think there is a reasonable probability that the wine begins to become more attenuated over time if the fruit continues to fade.
So call this drinkable but not exciting today, and I will definitely be looking to finish off my remaining bottle sooner than later.

This is drinking well - it has the misfortune on Friday of being paired with the Felsina CC from 2016, and that wine is clearly superior. But this wine is nice, and I could see it developing for another 5-10 years.

Beautiful dark ruby, brick at the rim. Dusty cherry nose. There is a nice cherry-pit bitterness along with lively ripe red fruit flavors. Medium+ body, and a tasty firm finish, good balance of fruit, acidity and tannin. This bottle seemed to be coming together nicely.

Spicy black cherry fruit on the nose, earth, truffles, smells actually (or like it always does) like a Brunello. Soft and supple on the palate. Layers and layers of complexity. As one other taster at the table noted “they do make very good wine, don’t they.” And that is thoroughly the case.

Deep ruby core receding to brick Orange on the rim. Initially the tannins were obvious; however, they quickly went to the background. Darker fruit flavors dominate. After some time in the glass some meatier notes, reminiscent of braised beef, emerged. Overall this is a lusher style of Chianti.

Very good wine. Intriguing and inviting nose - smoke, leather, licorice, leather, tar, and cherry. Cherry flavors dominate the palate, with tannins not yet fully integrated, and a fair degree of acidity. Major weakness is a lack of depth; could use a bit more grip. Stylish rather than powerful. Finishes cleanly. Think this may improve for another year or two, but drinking very well at the moment. A nice bottle to say goodbye to 2015.

Really showing well, to get this kind of balance, concentration and length out of a $20 wine is rare. It is like a a good Rosso de Montalcino on steroids, I do not know what blending or barrel aging Felsina did with this standard classico vintage, but it exemplifies the sour cherry, acidic profile of the Sangiovese grape while adding weight and complexity.

First bottle from case came off as a little muddy and unsettled, second one was much better, esp. a day or two after opening.
Well balanced, the sweet fruit offset by moderate tannins, this has a darker, smokier profile than the Rosso di Montalcino I usually drink, you don't get as much of the sour cherry flavors as you do with good rosso, but in return you have darker fruits and a weightier mouthfeel from what seems like some barrel aging.
This will probably improve for a year or two.
