At the bottom of the rack where I have not perused lately found a row of this. Very mellow and very complex, totally wonderful right now, but I think I need to deplete these while they still are. 2020 is a very good drink by date.

I like this. It has a kind of regalness about it, but is also natural in the best sense. Organic purity throughout. It's Cotes du Rhone that has a higher note: some beautiful soprano notes. Yet, my last sip had flakes of sediment.

Initially intensely lactic nose which used some time to reveal a lovely array of signature southern Rhone aromas of garrigue, cherry, sweet spices and pepper. On the palate it is medium-bodied and elegant with vibrant fruit and great balance. Med+ aftertaste and very versatile to pair with food.

Good QPR, medium to full body, warm and rich fruit, flowers and licorice. Distinct Rhone character, not so lush as CA Syrah but v.g. with food. Stood up to curry and fought back! Keep a couple of years but good now.

Breathed in glasses around 30 min before serving. Dark garnet with a clear core. The nose shows black & red berries with some earthy underbrush notes. Pleasant aromatics. Medium to full bodied. Fruity palate with a heavy blackberry note which shows some lighter raspberry as well. Moderate intensity, good concentration. Tannins emerge with air & temp. More grip than I expected. Lower acidity. Medium finish.

Wine Wizards February 2015 Tasting: Very attractive, complex wine that speaks of garrigue. Spicy and balanced in acid and tannin, this is a very, very nice wine that is classic of the area. BTW, I looked at the other tasting note and wondered if we were tasting the same wine.

This wine has been a disappointment every time I have tried it over the course of a good six years. It is bland at best and has a metallic quality to the finish that reminds one of the taste of blood. I realize the winemaker is celebrated for producing organic wines and following sustainable practices but as far as I am concerned, Cairanne is a valuable area: someone who actually knows what he or she is doing should take over this winery and make some Cotes du Rhone that tastes as good as Cairanne normally does. This is simply a chronic disappointment.

Almost marked this as "neutral" instead of "I like it," but that would be too harsh. It's good, but very subdued, so as to almost be bland. Some characteristic gaminess, very drinkable, not much acidity or tanning, which it could use.

That has its own charms as well. More spicy red fruit, more balsamic kinda thing going on Bill notes.
