This was ok, but still disappointing. The wine was a medium ruby in color and medium bodied. The nose was light with dark berries and a little cherry with some wood. The palate was blackberry and cherry. It showed a little tannin and acid, but not a lot. The finish was mid length.

top of the foil is monogrammed but the artificial cork below disappoints, 13.5% alcohol, medium legs, dark purple, fruit forward (both nose & taste), woody, fruity, cherries, blackberries, lychee; finish not long

The wine smells like cinnamon, clove and strawberry jam. It tastes a bit peppery, with cherry, blueberry, and vanilla. Medium body, smooth texture & medium finish.

Not much here. Rather good color, just a whiff of oak in the nose, very light simple fruit flavors on the palate. Its major asset is a lack of glaring defects. Costs a dollar or two more than most bottom-shelf wines, and really doesn't outshine the competition. Drinkable.

“The faces of California Cabernet Sauvignon”, Flight 1, Wine 1: The wine was medium ruby in colour, the lightest-coloured wine of the flight, with slow legs. It offered a rather simple and slightly artificial nose of mixed berries, blackberry and spices. On the palate the wine showed mixed berries, cherry, spices and vegetal notes, with fresh, medium-plus acidity, coarse and drying medium-plus tannin, notable heat from the alcohol and average length. As was to be expected from its positioning in the winery’s portfolio, this full-bodied, entry-level Napa Cab had moderate complexity and also lacked depth.

Ripe dark fruit and oak on the nose. Full bodied, smooth tannins, ripe dark cassis toned fruit with some oak. Good balance.

As always, cheap but pleasant. Bite is pretty harsh throughout, but has a good flavor profile.
