This pours light ruby in the glass. The nose is lifted, elegant and complex showing peonies, cranberry, pomegranite, cinnamon, cardamom, petrichor, and animal fur. The palate enters on the tart and sweet cranberry and pomegranate, then turns to medium acid and medium tannin and is a tad bitter and lightly green. This gives the palate a somewhat austere impression today. All in all this is offering some nice early drinking. Enjoyable today but I’d also love to see this with another 5-10 years of age. I could see further age benefitting here.

Lovely cinnamon and spice similar to the chevillon les St. George’s we had from the same year but slightly less complexity. Not really a negative though as this was just singing. Two great wines and shows you can still get great Burgundy for less than $200.

Servert blindt. Men digger stilen.

Medium tannin, lovely red fruit, lots of forest floor and wood notes. Incredibly smooth with long finish and medium complexity. Really good Gouge which I think will still improve over the next 3-5 years but certainly also good to go now.

Nez magnifique et déjà épanoui malgré une légère trace de réduction, il reste floral, charmeur... bouche en demi-puissance, un bel équilibre, saveurs de petits fruits rouges, très bon

During a merchant tasting guided by an MW. Medium ruby, Discrete nose of dark fruit, some cherry, forest, licorice. Good and clean aromas but on the palate not really a charmer, decent for sure and a bit of age will soften it, but I can't see this progressing from low 90ies.

Aroma: black cherry and rose petals with some forest floor notes and a touch of reduction. Palate: spicy and rich. Dark red berries with hints of vanilla and cream. Palate-coating texture. Moderate acidity. Excellent structure and tannic backbone. Very promising and built to age.

Darkly mineral nose though again quite reductive and closed; lovely finesse, fine tannins, good weight and density. Concentrated. Lovely length and mouthfeel. Chocolatey finish. Very good potential. 91-93

Red fruit (pomegranate), pretty spicy (cinnamon), also earthy notes and salinity in the aftertaste. Pure and light on it’s feet. Drinking well.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru Restaurant - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Black fruit with a little earth, very good spice .shockingly accessible for Gouges. Best for the medium-term.
