95 Parkerpunkte. Von mir gibts noch 2 mehr… Am Beginn seiner Hochphase (-2033)

  • In general I am really not a fan of this style of wine.. BUT I must admit this bottle was showing pretty damn good.. a bit opulent, concentrated wine, an explosion of fruit straight from the start, plumbs both on the nose and on the palate, the nose develops spices and even flowers with time, lovely complexity never experienced before with this grape, gentle hand on oak and fully integrated at this stage. The last glass (8 hours + after first open) had developed into toffie like nose, extremely interesting. Despite the high alcool(16.5%) you never really feel this, the balance is there, no rush to drink the last few bottles I have, but generally this is drinking much better that 6 months ago. In general this is a 93, but given its context it could be 95+

  • Just not what I think of when I think of primitive. More raisin than I like, adding too much sweetness to the wine. My evaluation of 90 may be generous, as I would not repurchase.

  • Paired with the camouflage pigeon at Osteria Francescana in 2017. Enormous yet balanced wine with a deep, rich, highly concentrated core of sweet black fruits, blackberry, raisins, figs, prunes, cocoa, and exotic baking spices. Complex, layered, and long with great intergration of the high alcohol (16.5%).

  • Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): { OperaWine2017, Verona } Rich, thick, and alcoholic; fans of the genre might say smooth, or plush. I find it's a wine of style, not of place. If you like this style, there's really little doubt here - you're going to love it. It's generous, as in a lot, but it ever so slightly stays in bounds thanks to some unseen gravitational wave - or something. Seriously, though, there's (barely) enough acidity to carry this, but you have to want a really big wine with countless layers of ripe, cocoa-dusted fruit. And many do, so there you go. Glad to have tasted, but never again. For the style, it's easily recommended, now or over the next 4-5 years.

  • To say this is Intense is an understatement! Dark crimson with a scorched earth quality. A very primal texture that is both silky smooth and aggressive simultaneously...with stout minerality and legs that go on forever! Although this comes in at 16.5% alcohol, it is barely detectable. Rich, Extracted and loaded with stewed plums, blackberry jam, and dried cranberry. Also, hints of clove, cardamon, licorice, cocoa powder, sweet smoke and raspberry which lingers on the finish for minutes! An absolute powerhouse!

  • A very well made wine.
    Deep ruby red
cocoa, wild fruits, plum, some cedar.
Fairly intense, full, and a long finish.
