Had alongside the 2012. The ‘11 seems more expressive and floral, yet with softer acidity. It has developed nicely but lacks the complexity to make it more than just above average.

Not a favourite of mine. Not bad, but a bit mediocre. A lot of burnt rubber on the nose, some on the palate as well, together with some citrusy fruit that is as much sour as it is fresh. Think it is the burned rubber on the palate that I don’t like so much, while you could argue typicity. Slightly improved over a bottle I had in February 2020, but not much.

Medium intensity on the nose with pineapples and ripe apples coming through. On the palate it almost had a soda element. Pineapple, a little beeswax, but still high acidity. The wine lacked in complexity but had good balance, nice length, and medium intensity.
Pleasant to drink, doubtful more years in bottle will add any strong interesting tertiary notes, but I could be wrong.

Buttercup colour; remains fresh, apples, a light undercurrent of petrol; dry, bracing acidity, direct but one dimensional; long but at its peak. Started to fade after two hours. Best drunk soon.

Straightforward Barossa Riesling, in a good way, with great purity of flavors and a zesty energy I found especially refreshing. Notes of petrol, lime, jellied citrus and some crushed stones. Not the most complex but very enjoyable.

The waxy demeanor on this dominated any fruit expression, I found it a little too savory for a riesling to be as enjoyable as others I have tried from Pewsey.

Appealing nose with lemon, floral notes and a beautiful wax rather than petrol note. As expected, high acidity, dry, medium-bodied. I agree with other notes that the finish is relatively short. Very nice overall, refreshing and delicious. Will age further, but for me, it is now at an appealing balance between fruit/floral and wax/petroleum.

27 October 2018 - Colour: colour has turned slight medium yellow Nose: a hint of beeswax, intense lemony, and a hint of Kero (very slight). similar to last notes 2 years ago. Taste: Intense Acidity lemon, medium dry with slight kero but almost undetectable, lime and slight sweet but acid still very strong. nice Written at the back can drink up to 2026.

{screwcap, 11.5%} Mid yellow; looking its age. Broad lemon and melon aromas, developing. The palate has a smear of acidity, but it’s a bit short lived. Still the flavours are tangy, a bit broad, all tasting of yellow fruit, melon, even a nod to apricot. No sense of botrytis, but there’s something about that confirms the wet vintage. Has a slightly rotting quality to the palate that’s not apparent on the nose. Still, it’s actually a decent enough wine, although the fairly broad and simple finish - on the shorter side - suggests there’s no much improvement left here.

{screwcap, 11.5%} Mid yellow. Smells a little developed, quite strongly of citrus/lemon detergent. Perhaps there's a hint of something floral, but it's very Eden Valley. Medium/full bodied mouthful of riesling, with lemon, beeswax and a slightly soapy texture. A bit of salty brine too. Low/medium acid emphasises this. It's dry, juicy but not over ripe, and finishes just medium length. Not entirely convincing somehow (a vintage victim?), and I wouldn't expect further cellaring to improve matters much.

viscous golden. this is huge rubber and balloon on the nose, it smells like every other eden valley riesling ive had, which is to say severe rubber aromas. very tight palate, very very dry, only the slightest bit of lemon chiffon on the back end. this is bitter like a very good sauvignon blanc and it goes right up to the edge of almost being harsh and too tight acid driven and bracing. i dont think aging this wine was a good idea to begin with and i dont think aging it any longer makes any sense.
loved it.

Colour: clean bright light watery pale yellow Nose: a hint of beeswax, lemony passionfruit, and hint of green apple and a hint of Kero (very slight). Still pleasant. Taste: initially served a bit too cold - watery light water, then swallowed has lemon passionfruit and dry.Acidity is there, smooth but not mouthful - light to medium. Maybe a few more years will develop further. Written at the back can drink up to 2026.

First blind in the Riesling comparative. Screw-cap. Drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of salty saline minerality, indistinct stony minerals, citrus lime, straw herbs, hint of petroleum. Developing. on the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (11.5%), lean medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of salty briney saline minerality, stony minerality, citrus lime, straw herbs. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Young now. Lean dry style. Lacking intensity, especially in comparison to the other Riesling in the comparative. May need more age for the palate to gel together a bit more. Paired well with Spaghetti alle Vongole.

Thoroughly enjoyed this - there’s citrus and stone fruit at the front, with a hint of petroleum. The mouthfeel is smooth, without any overt acidity, yet still refreshing. Great drinking by itself, though the later half of the bottle paired well with pan fried salmon.

Very pale peachy yellow color. Robust and quite tosty nose with aromas of steely minerality, some toasted bread, a little bit of gasoline, light flinty smoke notes and a hint of lemony citrus fruits. The wine is dry, broad and rather powerful, yet also very smooth and resolved on the palate with medium body. There are complex, developed flavors of steely minerality, ripe green apples, some flinty smoke, a little bit of toasted bread, a hint of tart lemon juice and a touch of petrol. The acidity is moderately high - not as piercingly racy as I've gotten used to see in Eden valley Rieslings, but high enough to keep the wine lively and structured. The finish is lively and steely with fresh, mineral flavors of ripe red apples, wet stones, some toasty bread and a hint of petrol. The acidity leaves a mouth-cleansing impression after the last flavors of the aftertaste fade.
A very beautiful and elegant Eden Valley Riesling that is starting to show the first signs of age with some very lovely tertiary aromatics, but overall the wine feels still very young and a long way from its plateau of maturity. I would've liked the wine to show a bit more acidity, but this is pretty smashable stuff nevertheless. A good reminder that not only are the German and Alsatian Riesling capable of aging - although it's funny to see that these Australian wines tend to remind me more of aged Hunter Valley Semillons than aged European Rieslings.

American Rieslings: Unfortunately, a friend dropped this uncorked bottle into an ice cooler and water got into the bottle. We tried to pour it out and taste the bottom of the bottle, but it was definitely watered down. Unfortunate, because there was some seriously good wine underneath, but it finished like tap water. Damn!

Lashings of limes and some petrol notes. Despite the age still very primary and a little one note. Will it improve and gain complexity? Hard to say as I'm not sure the acidity is there for the long term.
