On initial pour, at cellar temperature, this showed a beguiling complexity of flavors and smells on the palate and nose. Quite nice. A couple of hours in, it began to show highly oxidative notes that dominated the palate. Played with the serving temperature a bit, but it never got back to a good place. Fortunately most of the bottle was gone by the point it went sideways.

White Rhone blends are an acquired taste, and one which I have not fully acquired. This aside, the 2013 Queen's Road White delivers high quality goodness, from the initial whiff through the medium plus finish. Consistent with previous note, holding form well.

Put it out as a starter wine for OTB Night. Mistake: deep, extracted color, pretty strong and did not show well without food. Seems Marsanne-intense. No one even asked what they were drinking.

Much more integrated than the last bottle I had in Feb of this year. All the weight, honey, wax, sweet herbs and artesian soaps as the last bottle but better balance throughout the wine especially the finish.

Popped and poured. A tad cold out of the bottle so let it sit for about 20 minutes as there was literally nothing on the nose. Came around nicely and performed very similar to the earlier bottle from the summer. Nice viscosity and golden color. Really pretty wine to look at in the glass. Orchard fruits laced with dab of acidity. Good wine and I'll happily keep drinking Fred's! 90pts.

Only Reynvaan wine by which I am unimpressed. Subdued peach and melon on the nose. A bit of oiliness - though just on the nose. It's clean in the mouth. On the initial attack the wine is flat, but opens in the mouth, coming alive only on the finish. Maybe that means the wine should be opened two or three hours before consumption. A soft mouth feel but the flavors are so flat. Juicy finish. Funny wine - nowhere near worth $50 or $60 or whatever is being charged for it. Remarkably long finish though, lingering 30 - 45 seconds. Maybe it's too early to drink it?

I did not really love this wine. The nose is nice with lovely floral/honeysuckle notes from the viognier and hints of hazelnut, marmalade, and lemon curd. The palate however feels a little flat and the marsanne makes it feel a touch oily. There is a marzipan note that seems to dominate the back end that I don't find that great. I think its more personal preference that I just don't really enjoy marsanne, but I wouldn't buy this again.

Very fat and luscious wine with a creamy texture. Custard, honey and honeycomb, lanolin, herbs, toasted marshmallow with some spices and just a touch of heat when paired with a few foods.

Tasted from a different bottle the following evening. Another stellar showing. Very interesting wine that will likely be better in three to four years.

Interesting bouquet of minerals, cashew fruit, lemongrass, stone fruit, white ash, wax, and lanolin. The wines features the textural weight of Marsanne (or a Rhone variety blend), conveyed through a serene sensation that metaphorically reminded me of a still, reflective, glass surface mountain lake at dawn. Restrained, yet seductive mouthfeel and finish. Intriguing.

Popped and poured. Just not quite at the level of the 11 and 12. Still the same smoky peaches and pineapple just not quite enough structure/acid to keep it 100% together at this point. Could very easily come around in the next couple of years. 90pts.

Very nice minerality. This was overshadowed by the Cayuse Viognier tonight for sure. Still a nice WA white
