Strong musty aromas at first (old books!). Nice light ruby color. Some tannins, and hints of strawberry, cherry. A little earthy. Doesn't linger however, and lacks depth.

This wine was a truly pleasant surprise. We expected it might be a bit past its time but far from it -- this was a prime example of all that an Oregon Pinot can be: balanced, complex, without overpowering. A memorable bottle.

Cherry and plum. Nice color, a little dark. Got a little better over several hours but not as good as what I have had from this block of fruit in the past.

This was a nice wine with a reasonable pqr. Cherry and currant with a little volatile quality and a hint of fruity acidity (a bit like pineapple). Good structure and medium body. Held up over a second day. Not a wow but very solid.

Ordered off the wine list at the Joel Palmer House in Dayton, OR. Best Pinot I've had in some time. Dark and brooding with cherry and strawberry as the prevailing fruit, there was an underlying earthiness which brought this one together. It was an especially good match for the mushroom risotto and wild mushroom tart. And at only $48, a distinct bargain.

16th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Same Old Place): This was in the top 3 for me. Black cherry pie, with all the spices, berries, and some earth were notable. Great depth and structure. 91 on day 2.

Two Days in Willamette; 4/22/2004-4/23/2004 (Willamette Valley OR): Bottle and barrel tasting with Dick Shea. Nice red fruit, somewhat elegant but simple finish. OK length.
