Compelling nose of exactly what’s great about Napa cab. Black currants, cassis, dark chocolate, truffle, a touch of balsamico, all of which carries over to the palate. Tannins are resolved or otherwise integrated. It’s a front-loaded flavor profile that trails off quietly without a big finish, but it really doesn’t need one given the overall beauty of this wine.

Needed a quick decant and slight chill. Continued evolving in the glass. Fantastic nose, bright and floral. Had a "cool" essence to it, bright fruit with deep flavors, black cherry. Light is body but really interesting with impressive complexity. BADMONKEY called it with the mineral/graphite descriptor. Has years to go but may lose some verve if you wait too long. Loved this!

A local store had this on sale for $99 and decided to revisit. Dark ruby fruit - dark cherry, currants, blackberry, and a little plum. Smooth mid-palate but a lighter profile than expected in light of the vintage and Winery direct price - medium body. In addition, it was all about the fruit - very little structure. Nice rich flavors of dark berries, some spice, and a mineral/graphite. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Popped/poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours. Improved a little with time. A decent wine but again I expected more for the Winery price and vintage. 100% cab.
Decanted 90 minutes. Round and bold Napa Cabernet with notes of chocolate, cassis, vanilla, spice. Nicely balanced and palate filling if otherwise unremarkable. This may be a sleeper as Parker gave it 88+ and Galloni 92.

4th time tasting and the highest score yet. Arietta wines seem to really benefit from ageing, more so than other wineries. Great dark fruits, balanced, long, smooth, good acidity. Really nice.

Tasted at a fairly high-end wine tasting. Derived from Coombsville. Dark ruby/purple fruit - blackberry, dark cherry, and dark currants. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth but I expected a little bigger/fuller fruit in light of the vintage, price point, and Galloni's 95 rating. Nice flavors of dark berries, some spice, and a little dust/mineral component which I enjoy. Nice finish but not overly long nor deep. Interesting that Galloni gave it a 95 rating and Parker 88+. I believe it falls somewhere in between. This bottle was decanted for a couple hours. 100% cab.

Decanted for one hour. Drank alongside two Quilceda Creeks and easily bested them with elegance and complexity. The higher pedigree was obvious just by the more complex nose. Tannins are smooth and oak is in the background. In the foreground is plenty of sweet and bright black/red fruit backed by a focused/compact streak of earthy minerals and various liqueurs. Young and powerful with plenty of room to improve.

went to a tasting where Fritz Hatton was there. He is a real character, quite fun. He loves his white wine. This cab was just fantastic and my favorite.. I may rate higher if future tasting prove to be as good. Andy Erickson is the wine maker and this is an affordable way to buy his wine vs the alternatives. The price for well made Napa cabs seems to really have exploded up.

Napa Visit 2016; 7/10/2016-7/13/2016: 2013 Cabernet - silky tannins, somewhat chalky, hints of cherry, graphite & minerals. Oak is still powerful, medium-long finish. 93 pts and room to climb

The bouquet opened with a mix of dark floral tones, black cherry, currant, tobacco, spice and sweet herbs. It was focused on the palate, with youthful tension, displaying dark and spicy red fruits with a mineral core. It was long yet fresh throughout the finish, with hints of tannin lingering long.

previous bottle I rated 93, disappointed in this one, not sure why, just not special and not worth the price. Hope it was just an off bottle.

Drank as a pop and pour. Very dusty palate with sweet extracted redfruit, vanilla, and cool minerality. Approachable but still plenty of tannic bite.

Drank at a wine dinner with the owner. This was a nice wine that was drinking very well for a 2013. This was a balanced wine with a bright finish.
