I found this bottle lurking in the afternoon, so we had it with tomato bruschetta, chicken sausage and pesto pasta with a tossed salad. The wine was remarkably well-balanced and flavorful with a blend of primary fruit, secondary savory notes, and well-integrated fine tannin. The flavor from start to finish was fairly linear and consistent. Almost no sediment in the bottle. Although the brighter, sharper Rosso characteristics had softened, the wine was still quite good with food. 88-89.

Medium garnet. Lovely perfume of soft florals, cherry, cranberry, and white pepper hints. Starts out with underripe cherry but the flavors fill out and get riper. Good balance between acid, alcohol and tannins.

Let it breathe for a couple of hours and be rewarded with rich aromas of damson plums and jasmine. Full bodied and full throttled with ripe raspberry, sweet plum and a hint of cocoa underpinned by silky tannins. Rich, luscious finish that lasts for at least a minute. When a Rosso is this good who needs a Brunello?

Drinking with dinner of red beans and rice. Nice balance of red fruit, dirt and a bit of mature tannin. Body a bit on the lighter side. Some pepper or alcohol banging against the mildly spiced red beans. Quite good.

Improving it seems. Feels fuller than previously with plenty of fruit and acid. A little harsh on the end but good with food and maybe something that would match with a lot and not raise too many objections

medium to full bodied, with firm acidity and tannins. Wine starts off well and then seems to come apart a bit. Almost feel like it's trying too hard to be a brunello and then struggling to sustain itself. A bit more time may assist? A puzzlement.

This is a superb wine that despite the price point over delivers against the "bigger brothers". I actually suspect that the ratings aren't as high as they should be because it's a relatively cheap wine. Dark beautiful color. Complex on the nose, ripe dark fruit and orange peel. Spices. On the palate, it's big, with strong tannins that will give the wine good cellar life. Crisp acidity, and cherries flavors. Long finish. 14.5% alcohol. I would dare anyone to taste it blind and not to think it's a brunello. It's there, just half the price. Buy it if you find it.

Firm acidity, velvety mouth feel - a little raw and racy though. Tart cherries, tobacco and petrol, which does burn off a bit with time. Maybe more bottle age will calm it more overall. For now a food wine - grilled pork would prob go well.

Extraordinary value for $17. This rosso can go up against many Brunellos at higher price points. Clear garnet with a tawny tinge. Perfumed nose of candied cherries, strawberries, clove, earth and strong minerals - gasoline, maybe. Energetic and penetrating on the palate. Concentrated ripe red fruits give way to firm, drying tannins on the finish. Abundant fruit, structure and earthy complexity, this wine has it all. Delicious now but it would be interesting to taste it again in a decade's time.

love it! Perfect RdM. Easy drinking quality with fresh red cherries and inviting acidity plus enough notes of truffle and tobacco to remind you that it's not kidding around!

Had not been chilled before drinking. Brilliant garnet to the edge. PnP. Bright cherry aroma and flavor with a burst of tannin and some wood. Wood flavors faded fairly quickly leaving an easy to drink wine with a light summer BLT + Avocado dinner. Quite a nice example of the style.

No formal notes. Medium ruby and bricking. Ripe red berries and still quite fresh and juicy. Very attractive flavor profile and excellent persistence.

PNP - very agreeable, good acidity while still feeling plush. After about an hour in the glass, this started to come apart a little.

Quite reductive at first but straightens out with airing. Tart berries, some bitterness, touch of gasoline. Good but a little shy.
