Someone threw fresh grass clippings, lemon juice, and cat pee in a blender, hit frappé, and filtered the resulting slurry into a bottle. No, that's not a good thing. Just someone's twisted concept of what good SB should taste like.
I feel like I am drinking a different wine than some of the reviewers here. I just really like this year after year. I was afraid 2014 was too old, so opened my one and only bottle. It is strong and excellent, and will clearly go for many more years. Lovely lemon, with some tight tart acid and lanolin, hints of tropical fruits (passion fruit, for example). This is just such a delicious wine, both on its own and with food. Compact and rounded mouth feel. Lovely.

Deep yellow color. A nose of honeyed, graham cracker, ginger cake tones with sea salt, candle wax, over lemon and papaya. Rich texture, with generous yellow apple and plum fruit, topped in honey, graham cracker and nougat. I would like a bit more acidity, but it still shows clean, mineral, mountain stream and floral tones. The texture and fruit are delightful, a bit more acidity and I think this could age further, but I'm glad I drank it when I did.

After reading the previous notes, I popped this figuring it wouldn't be any good or past it's prime. Not the case at all! It still had a few years to go. Stone fruit with a hint of grass. Still some nice fruit, great acidity, and really nice minerality, with a longish finish. I thought it was great.

Still don't get this wine and others' appreciation of it. It's still a woody, herbaceous, cat-pee disappointment. I'm not going to score it, as it's so far outside what my palate likes that my score would reflect my preferences rather than the wine's inherent quality. If I did score, it would be <80.

Lime and verbena dominate. It seems to be in a stage of development towards more mature notes, I'll hold my last bottle a couple of years to see how it comes out

On nose, the sauv blanc predominates (lime blossoms more than grassy/herbaceous); on palate, semillon seems to predominate because of honeyed roundness to the fruit, wish it had more citrusy kick; moderate abv of 13.5%; very nice year in and year out

Showing really well at the moment, and hard to imagine it developing too much further. Herbaceous and sprightly, notes of lime, verbena, Chartreuse, and early-spring flowers.

Sauvignon Blanc grapefruit and lemon flavors with Semillon fig, almond, pineapple, and peach. Creamy and balanced. I tasted a lot of oak (aged sur lie in French oak), which settled down with some air. Goldstein talks about “Chardonnay style” Sauvignon Blanc and this one was definitely in that style. It drank and felt like a chardonnay with all of the buttery oak. Moreover, I didn’t get a choreographed canopy of one flavor after another; instead, I got one flavor that hit you all at once. I tried several times to think about what I was tasting, but my mind wandered before I could detect separate flavors. Compared to last week’s Arietta On the White Keys, I didn’t find it to be as good (admittedly the Arietta was about $30 more expensive). Still, I think Washington St.’s best white wines are Sauvignon Blancs and Semillons and you can get these for around $30, which is excellent value.
I do wonder what this would have been like in another 5 years.

Nice pale gold color . Not as deep as some other versions of this cuvee I have seen.
Evolved and medium intensity aroma of citrus, some honeyed stone fruits (peach ) and some spice.
Medium bodied with similar flavor characteristics on the palate. The Semillon is more dominant on the palate than the SB though. Medium acidity with a medium finish.
Overall very well done and delicious. However, the acidity seems to be lower than expected suggesting its time to drink up. Just a guess as I have no experience seeing how this cuvee ages.

The most strapping vintage of this label that I have tasted. Indeed, the wine has not budged in the 28 months since my last tasting. Semillon in all its rustic glory is prominent here, though only 1/4 of the blend. It showed best toward evening's end.
The wine requires at least another three years to unwind, and no less than five to seven to enter a middle drinking window, probably ten. Continued patience will be rewarded.

Seemed more south France, Viognier and the like, than it’s Bordeaux varietal mix. I guess the Semillon really impacted this wine . Smoky lemon Verbena and beeswax in the nose. Wax, lemony citrus and fig notes.

Decanted for 2 hours. Light yellow. Lemon, seashells, quince and eucalyptus are just some of the youthful but complex aromatic landscape. Viscous on entry, the first flavors show preserved lemon, citrus zest, toasted nuts. There is still some youthful bitterness. The long and powerful finish is a bit warm. This wine is still in its adolescence and should really hit its stride in about 5 years.

The wine looks yellow gold colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, lychee, banana, guava, mineral, stoniness, medium toast and acacia. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity. Quite delicious as is quite often the case. Love.

Followed for three hours before noting. Light straw color, clear and bright with no sediment. A strong bouquet of tropical and citrus fruit faded dramatically after the first hour or so. It relaxed into a nice mesh of grass and fruit with a bold mineral and glycerin base. Long finish. I think this emulates it’s Bordeaux mentors in excellent fashion. 5+11+17+8= 91
Aside from the creamy (from the Sémillon) grapefruit, all I get from this wine is grassy cat pee. I don't know where others are smelling and tasting stone fruits. This is the second of six bottles, and the first one was just the same cat pee disappointment.

Beautiful wine. Faint floral and lemon on the nose. Lemon curd, lavender and honeydew melon(my wife's call which I think is spot on). Great minerality. Something a little grassy or earthy. Bought a case thinking I'd get to try a few and pawn off the rest on my wine buddies. No one bit. SUCKERs! Their loss. After 2 bottles I'm not sure I'd give any up anymore.

It's been about 6 years since I have had a C. Estate Blanc, and what a wonderful wine to get reacquainted with this 75% sav blanc 25% semillon blend. Yes, it does have a good degree of new wood, but the end result stays away from vanilla tones and more to exotic spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Add these to the layered palate of rich pear and white flowers, terrific acidic cut, and you have a heck of a good wine.

Golden in the glass with hints of silver at the edge. Pretty nose with notes of baking apples, tropical fruits and lemon. A bit grassy too. Round and fleshy on across the palate, adding notes of under-ripe nectarine and almonds, but with nice acidity to remain fresh. Another reviewer noted it would work well with food and on it's own, and I agree - it walks this line really well. Very nice bottle today but it's definitely got a life in front of it too.

I had this with grilled chicken, feta and spinach sausages on 6/15/16. It had a subtle, nuanced bouquet of hay, guava, lime, pineapple and dried herbal aromas. The palate was rich, crisp and complex with flavors of hay, guava, lime, pineapple, herb and minerals.

Medium, golden appearance. Really beautiful color for a relatively young wine.
Lots of citrus, honey and some vanilla on a surprisingly
evolved nose.
Lots of similar characteristics on the palate with medium acidity to keep things fresh and a great finish.
A great summer wine and I can't think of a dry white from Pessac that can deliver this quality/price ratio.
I love this wine and would err on drinking early as this bottle seems a touch evolved.

Great Washington state Bordeaux blanc. Will always want to have this wine when enjoying prime Pacific coast seafood such as oysters and sauteed fresh abalone.

This is an excellent Washington white wine. It compares favorably with French counterparts in terms of its various pleasant layers of complexity - minerality with subtle floral and exotic fruit notes. Well done!

Incredibly well-balanced between the Sauvignon Blanc and the Semillon. I think the 2014 is better than the previous two years.

Hints of dirt and grasses on the nose. A really unique white wine. Strong citric taste with a wonderful aftertaste. This one is a keeper.

Motz nailed it. Rich yet precise, big and generous on the palate, this semillon/sauv blanc blend captures the essence of high-end white Bordeaux in Washington. Best I've had from this estate.

Focused and precise, rich and weighty. Oak is in the process of integrating. Medium plus acid, glycerin texture, generous mouthfeel. Time should serve it well.

A more lush, rounded SB, not showing much typical SB profile, but very enjoyable. This is done in a style that is pleasing on its own, but still works well with food - we paired with grilled fish.

SB dominating nose with mineral and grass, hints of flint Semillon mouth feel with grapefruit and lime. Potentially lots of life

A nice surprise at lunch. Great nose of green apple and white flowers. Better texture than most white Bordeaux and very well balanced. Great spring/summer wine. Refreshing acidity and just plain delicious. Well recommended. Great QPR

My wife and I tasted this at the carriage house tasting room on 2/12/16. It had a wonderful bouquet of hay, guava, lime, pineapple and almond aromas. The palate was rich, crisp and layered with flavors that followed the nose.

lovely aroma, floral and nectar on the palate with a long finish. I don't think i like it quite as much as I did the '13, but still one of my favorite wines

Lot of oak on nose
On palate sherbert with Semillon dominating at this stage; SB showing in nice crisp finish
Probably most promising of recent Ch Bl at this stage of development
Nice management of both picking and elevage to get this balance

Stunning bouquet of gooseberry, white currant, lemongrass, dandelion, herbs, Dijon mustard, chalk, and minerals. At once elegant and rustic. The wine tastes as it smells, showing tremendous depth and character. Delightful weight, definition, lift, and focus. Excellent acid, intriguing texture, bracing finish of profound length. Beautiful now and better in several years. Excellent QPR! 93-95.
