Nez moyennement expressif. Lent à s ouvrir. Note floral. En bouche ampleur moyenne. Les tanins sont encore bien presents. Longueur moyenne. Vin agréable dans l ensemble mais rien de vraiment distinctif. Se bonifiera peut-être dans les prochaines années

PNP, followed over several hours. Needed about four hours to deepen and add more complexity. Cassis and blackcurrant but also some crunchy red fruit. Cedar and a bit of graphite. I wanted to check in, and it’s a nice drink with some air, classic style, but will be better in a couple more years.

I was surprised that there's quite some acidity left, certainly a lot less "wartery" than the other 14's we've tasted recently (Dauzac, Clerc Milon, Pichon Longueville, Ducru-Beaucaillou). Giving it some time seems beneficial. I'll taste the next in 2023.

Classic Bordeaux, silky smooth and linear in structure. Cassis, black plum. Fine tannins to round things off. Very pleasant. Ready now may improve and be kept for a while longer. My thoughts enjoy the 12 and 14 now while we wait for the bell ringers of the last few vintages.

Fantastisk doft. Vinet är mycket bra, men näsan lovar mer än munnen får uppleva. Bra balans, ganska avrundade tanniner. tobak, svara vinbär, mörka körsbär.

Popiah Party Post-CB lunch (Pura Brasa, Guoco Tower): Very pleasant. This was classic Bordeaux, with drifts of tobacco leaf and damp earth, cassis, cedar and wood spice. Sweet but lovely, and still very Bordelaise. The palate was clearly not from a blockbuster vintage, but there was a nicely elegant shape and purity to it, with a chew of fine tannins and bright acidity framing a mid-bodied mouthful of cassis fruit; these again seasoned with a bit of spice and cedar. A touch on the light side, but not lacking in either persistence or complexity. Drinking fresh and nicely with a pork rack, this should continue to improve over the short to medium term.

Hade med på somm-fest. Lite besvikelse, tyckte den var lite tunn i smaken. Luftade iofs inte vinet. Hoppas att det blir bättre med några fler år på nacken.

Drank over 2 nights - better on night 2. Decanted for 1 hour before dinner. Black / red color. Tight nose - red currants, black cherry, granite. On palate, medium+ body, medium acidity, medium+ tannins and long finish. Similar flavor profile to nose. Needs time. I knew I was drinking early but wanted to try something from this vintage. 91+/-

No notes taken. Still pretty closed, black fruit, ringing acidity, medium ripe medium tannin. Shines balance and elegance. Full of potential and will retry in 5 years when it will shine. At Eunice in Houston, decanted for 30 min.

Chateau Lagrange dinner (Blacksalt, Washington DC): Medium expressive nose displaying cassis, a hint of cherry and red currant, noticeable green, ash, a hint of oak and earth. Medium concentration, subtle red fruit, good acidity, coarse tannins and a medium finish with a hint of oak and oak tannins at the end. It is a bit austere and disjointed at the moment. Needs time.

Attractive price point for such a wine. Nose somewhat closed, fresh and delicious acidity, cranberry, blueberry, very light body, not much depth, where is tannins? I don’t know if it is age-worth. Hope aging will help to develop its complexity. I agree with other reviewers. Wait a few years before you commit to buy. Again, price is good.

During a 2014 walkabout arrivage tasting, no tasting notes given, only selective comments. In general I did not walk away excited after sampling ca. 40 wines (to be fair, all the big weights were missing). In a nutshell, while the vintage is pleasant and fresh, it is often too lean, lacking charm and aromatic depth. Still, Bordeaux being Bordeaux, the wines are not made for immediate drinking so, I don't see the point in buying them now. There will be plenty of them in the market in 2024 when they reached their peak and prices then will probably still be relatively attractive given the release prices.

Tasted at 2014 bdx tasting by Ch’ng Poh Tiong. Brilliant nose but the palate proved otherwise. Wine is probably closed but I believe it will improved over time.

Nose: I agree with others that this is a nice red fruited, cedary wine with a classic profile. Palate: Lightest wine in the lineup with black cherry, cranberry and red-currant notes. Bit of cedar and spice, then showing some minty eucalyptus notes. Finish: Moderate and a bit acidic.
Coravin pour as part of a 2014 release tasting. This needs time to develop, but I can see the upside in the critics scores.

Fresh, bright and crisp, the cassis and cranberry fruits are made more interesting with the addition of fresh herbs, tobacco and spice. Medium/full bodied, and on the fresh side, this should age nicely.

A classic Bordeaux at a very reasonable price. Nice, sweet fruit, but lacking some concentration and with a slightly weak structure. Light to medium bodied. Good but quite a step down compared to the 2000 vintage. 89-90 pts. Pnp, which worked well.

Less apparent oak compared to Branaire Ducru and Beychevelle tasted before. Quite pure and fresh in terms of fruit profile, a little herbaceous, with slightly angular and drying tannins. Not overly generous. Nice length. 88-89+

En Primeur Bdx. 2014 tasting event, tasting pour, short note. Clean nose, with very ripe Cabernet Sauvignon profile, cassis, some dusty gravel & minerals, spicy new oak and violets. Palate is flirty, with ripe and sweet Cab. fruit, juicy and quite big at this point, with oakspices and earth. Feels almost ready to enjoy, but is far from. The acidity and long finish, with a fine layer of tannins is promising. This will be a fine wine if left alone for some amount of time. As flirty as it is today, as good will the final result be, once the maturity enters. It’s all in there, just a question of time now. (89 – 92)

With more softness than expected, this medium-bodied wine tastes like you’re biting into a handful of fresh, juicy, ripe, crisp, red fruits with a spray of cassis on top. 88-90 Pts
