this is singing right now, perfume of licorice, flowers and red berries, started off enveloped in oak and with air it balanced out and morphed into a fantastic beauty showcasing flavors of dark plum, cherry, stone and smoked meats, complex, complete, drinking well now, modern with higher levels of acid and structure, elegant, logical, intelligent, this is a great value and I am a fan, drink or hold

Much better than the bottle I drank from my own cellar, despite using same source as the restaurant. Much wider open nose. Impressive cassis. Perfume. Palate falls short behind the nose.- However, very good Bordeaux.

Still really enjoyable but not as good as at the time of the earlier tasting. My prediction of improvement hasn’t materialised unfortunately. However, still excellent wine.

Dark ruby red with pinkish-orange rim. Dark cherry, plum, blackberry, dried raspberry, black truffles, earth, tobacco, wood, vanilla, floral and spices. Complex and interesting. Medium-full bodied, medium-high acidity, medium to medium-high tannin, medium alcohol. Long finish.
This vintage was a little more tart than other vintages I had tasted. It almost tasted like the style of natural wine. I like it.

Cassis, smoke, mahogany, leather, tobacco, subtle hint of tomato leaf. There isn't a lot of Cab Franc in the blend but its role is crucial. Surprisingly dark and full bodied, consider me a big fan. I have every belief this could drink even better in another couple years. Yum, yum.
Edit: There is 0% Cab Franc, I guess I imagined it based on the herbal flavors. One of the benefits of a cooler year! 80% Merlot, 15% CS, 5% Malbec.
Very good; meaty and earthy Cote de Bourg. Savoury notes and dark fruits on the nose with a cedar-y, smoky, dark fruit palate. Decanted for about four hours and opened up very nicely.

Random wines tried during service (Oinoscent): Popped and pour after drinking all the other wines, to see this wine with a bit of age in it The wine shows density, obviously needs time to open up but straightforward . Its all about meaty, bacon, smoke and toast. The fruit is more on the red fruit side, dried red fruit, currannt, the oak feels more upfront but drier, earthy Palate showing purity, elegance, the same flavor profile on the nose, medium tannins, nutty, almond, bacon again, peppery, dried herbs, a touch drying tannins, medium to long finish Beautiful evolution

I uncorked this bottle several hours before drinking and put the cork back in until dinner. Deep red. Nose of chocolate, cedar and plum. The palate has weight, structure and the silky texture that I believe Mitjavile is going for. I've tasted this vintage a couple years ago and boy this is starting to turn around nicely. It has concentration without being heavy, the fruit is still youthful, yet the wine is layered with secondary aromas. This wine delivers pleasure at a bargain compared to some St-Emilion Grand Cru and I'd love to try this again in 3-5 years.

I had never heard of this wine until 5 days ago when discussing claret with a friend over lunch and he highly recommended it (he’s still drinking the 2008.) Deep ruby. Black cherries, plums, chocolate nose. Similar palate with toast/cedar. Full bodied, a little tannic and clearly still evolving. 13.5% alcohol, 80% merlot, 15% cab sauv & 5% malbec. Outstanding wine which I think will improve over the next few years and drink well for at least 10 years. A great discovery!
30+ minute decant. Very unique. Was like a trip around the world! Had the tannins of a Barolo, the plums of CDP, the oak and vanilla of a Tempranillo, the texture of Bordeaux, the structure and depth of an Aussie Shiraz, and the smell of a Napa Cab. Very complex or disjointed, however you want to interpret it. I’m the latter as it wasn’t my style, but love that it was different.
Deep ruby red. Powerful nose, plum, cedar, dark berries, cherries, earthy, dust and cassis. Full bodied with crisp acidity and medium drying tannins. Good balance and flavorful, plum, dark berries, gravel, cherry stone, long finish. Long life ahead, stunning.

Long decant. Great example of a modern Bordeaux! Complex aromas and flavors of mocha, black coffee, spice, cedar, pencil shavings, graphite, turned earth, sweet tobacco, black cherry, cassis, and black currant skins, combine with layers of savory meat jus and saline. Elegant, yet dense, round and full on palate. Long, lingering finish. Impressive balance of richness and grace. Way more complex, interesting and age worthy then a Napa Valley Red Blend at the same price. Recommended.

Tasted after the 2013. Dark fruit, spices, moccha, cocoa on the nose. Quite generous and sweet. On the palate very polished and smooth, ripe tannins, good acidity and freshness. Very good. 91-92+

Picked between October 20 and October 26, the wine delivers an earthy, black cherry, round experience that ends with a spicy, blackberry finish. 89-91 Pts
