Unusual. Almost salty. High tannins. Very fruity. Buttery, somehow. Spicy and big body but a little bland through the middle. Probably wouldn't buy again but interesting.

Only a glass at a resto with some fairly strong food, so this TN is a bit tentative. I liked it a lot, a serious wine. North Rhone like. Definitely worth trying again (I'd had it about four years ago, not sure if same vintage, but I liked that one too.)

16/20 VISUEL: burent sombre, opaque....

13.5% - Clear, med to deep purple / clean, med intensity - ripe berries, liquorice, white pepper, french patisserie shop / dry, med+ acidity, med to full body, med+ supple tannin, med+ intensity, med length. Quite a nice surprise from Morocco. Fresh and vibrant. Drank over 2 days, the palate was more representative of the nose on the second day.

Session with TimT & friends (Table at 7): Cork-closure. Pop and pour. Drank over 2.5+ hours. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of ripe red fruits, sweet red cherries, dried cranberry. Youthful. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe red cherries, raspberries, dried cranberries, menthol, and peppermint. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Performed above my expectations. Very approachable and drinkable now. No doubt the ripeness is reflective of the Moroccan climate, but I wonder if the alcohol level has been manipulated down. Either that, or the cooling effect of the Atlantic Oceanic influence in the Rabat/Casablanca region. +1 point for balance and sheer drinkability.
