Concentrated, dark ruby, with a narrow transition to rust at the edge. Dried black fruit & tobacco aromas on the nose. Med- acid, dry. Balance of dried blackberry, dried plum, dried black cherry, tobacco, cigar, soft leather. Med+ finish. Showing its age, pronounced on first glass, mellowing after. I think past its prime but still a nice wine. Definitely drink up!

Consistent with my other notes. Concise and focussed with elegant black & red fruits. Still floral and lovely. I will miss these after my last 2 are gone!

This was flat out delicious. Lots of nutmeg and ripe, dark fruit on the powerful nose. Medium to full bodied with a little graininess, this delivered a mouthful of ripe plums, sweet blackberries, hints of anise, nutmeg, and vanilla and the finish went on and on. One of the best values in Napa Cab I have ever had.

Wonderful -- loved this wine!!! 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 4% Sangiovese. Decanted before drinking. Wonderful aromas of black currants, mocha, anise and red raspberry, with notes of allspice, nutmeg and vanilia. Smooth and silk; it feels so good in the mouth, I hesitated as long as possible before swallowing, which provided its own pleasures and tastes. Wonderful structure and overall delightful! Cheers!

Medium garnet color. Great bright red fruits on the palate and nose. Sweet fragrant floral style of cabernet with cassis, red cherries, and red plums. Good mouthfell and purity. A slighly elevated acid level does not detract from this crowd pleaser. 92 points as a QPR.

Yowza , this is pure Napa Cab like you read about . Pop & pour & it is very tasty . Big dark cherries & plums w/ some back bone , can't wait to see what happens w/ a little air , but for now I am impressed especially for the $

Bright and youthful. Still intense cassis and vibrant red fruits. The acid is leveling out and my notes below pretty much still sum it up. The only difference is the reddish fruits now. Very very nice.

Napa visit; 1/18/2008-1/20/2008 (Napa Valley, California): Really liked this one. This wine has the structure to age beautifully, and the fruit to balance the tannins. Excellent Cabernet, with a smoky, brooding nose that evolves into a cherry, cinnamon, and leather. On the palate, more dark fruits, with an earthy, smoky flavor that was very appealing. I'd hold this one for a few years and see how it tastes.

Youthful deep color. Intense sweet cassis on the nose. On the palate the first thing you notice the purity. There is an amazing smooth sweet cassis, dark cherry, and deep tar going on here. I am a big fan of the lush elegant style this wine brings. The mouthfeel reminds me of a top Pomerol. Sure, it's fat, but what's wrong with fat? This has a finely weaved tannin level and an 'in your face' (not in a bad) way acid level. The finish is long and smooth. This is still wonderful, and there is no sign of any change on the horizon. A great deal at $39. Recenty found for $25 and a SCREAMING deal at that. Glad I got me more. Drinks like a $100 bottle of Napa Cab...really. Holdng at 94.

I think other reviewers here might not be giving this wine its due. This is really special stuff. Big. Fruit forward. Nicely balanced tanins. Smooth. Great stuff. I've had three or four bottles of this stuff now and it is consistently great from the minute you pop the cork. The hilltop winery where they grow and make this stuff is as impressive as the wine in the bottle. Kuleto is a small label but if you see some you should give it a try.

Ultra dark intense crimson color with the slightest purple edge. The nose shows some anise, currant, cherries, cassis, and espresso. On the palate there is a wonderful purity and lushness. A dark fruited medley with espresso and cocoa. This Cabernet has an amazing soft mouthfeel and a lilt balance of fine tannins and acid. To me this is more of a drinking wine than a food wine. This is a truly special Cabernet, especially when you take into account its cost; $40. A modern day Napa QPR. Over the past few months this wine has evolved nicely. It has picked up much more character, and has ironed out its rough edges. Drinks like today’s $100 Napas. Wow

I'm a little disappointed so far after one glass. I'm going to give it a little air and try again after my walk...more notes to follow.
Second day this was better. It's not that I think it needed decant time to smooth out but it seemed to taste better today. Not a big wine but the flavors are nice. 86-88

Blind Tasting (Farpointe Cellar): Deep ruby. A solid nose of black fruit and red raspberries, mixed with spice, vanilla, and nutmeg. It is very soft in the mouth with wonderful fruit and a solid backbone. A definite winner.
