Super earthy and funky on opening, but gets more dark berry, plum. and some tobacco notes as it sits. Fairly classic Ribera del Duero profile. Still youthful color so it can likely sit a few more years, but it's a good spot now.

Almost the same as the previous bottle. Medium bodied, medium intensity transparent ruby. Nose of cherry, plum, plus blueberry, and spices like pepper, mint, cloves. Medium acidity, minimum amount of sweetness and tannins, not very dry. Similar to a mild Australian Shiraz. 88+/100

Nose of dark berries, dried herbs, cooked asparagus & leather, dark cherry & ripe blackberry, subtle hints of licorice, vanilla & mocha, chewy tannins, long finish.

What a beautiful new age but delicious Ribera Del Duero. Bright full cherries, licorice, balanced acidity, And an enjoyable and lingering fresh herbaceous ( oregano) finish. Really gained in more fruit complexity over the 1.5 hours of consumption. The New oak elements and residual tannins made this wine very satisfying with some Spanish cheeses. Enjoy over the next five years.

Totally different from previous vintages, 2011-2013, which were medium plus to full bodied, clearly fruit, vanilla, oak driven. Medium bodied, medium intensity transparent ruby with purple hue. Almost no vanilla, oak, chocolate, but very dry, just a little dark berries. Hollow mid palate at first but it softens a little with time. Seems it came back to an old world Rioja.

Red & dark fruits, nice juicy acidity, a touch of oak, hint of herbs/spices. Easy to drink but by no means boring. Will buy more. 89-90. Diam cork, medium bodied.

Have enjoyed Emilio Moro's since 2006 and I find this vintage one of the better ones, but a bit more fruit forward. Did not decant, served with grilled pork chop. Nose was a bit closed in, plums and blackberries in the initial flavors and mid-range and a good finish with mild-moderate, soft tannins. Wine is certainly drinkable now and should continue for several years. While perhaps not long agers, the wines since 2006 continue to present themselves very well. I have also enjoyed the Emilio Moro Malleous which is worth the difference in price.

An interesting 2014 Ribera del Duero from a prestigious winery that must have shareholders thinking Christmas comes everyday. Once the hefty cork has been removed what you find in the bottle is a well-balanced but light and fleshy young, unoaked and lightly filtered tempranillo which is clearly well made but is worth nowhere near the asking price of €16 - €19. Pleasant and enjoyable quaffing for people with more money than sense.

Interesting dark blue tinged in the glass, i.e. more of a purple bent than a garnet disposition. The nose is lush and brambly blackberry. Blueberry notes in the palate give this 100% Tempranillo away as a classic example of wine made in Ribera del Duero. It's velvety yet not completely smooth, with a little tannin in the back. It likes food, particularly salted meats.

This wine is a bit of a disappointment. It took several hours to open up and then it was just ok. Very different from other outstanding Moro wines.

A bit fruit forward, holding up well, with plums and berries in the initial flavors. Good length and finish, enjoyable Ribera del Duero.

Not as good or complex as their more premium wines but still of the usual high quality of Emilio Moro and of course, good bang for your buck.

Very tasty. Love the wines from this region. Light enough for a hot day but still a dark ruby red color.

Dense and dark, with a shy nose. Dark fruit undertones with coarse tannins in the background. Nice wine, just a hint of heat and little oak.
