The 73 Bouchard Clos de la Roche shows a winsome, sweet dried cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg, game, wood smoke nose. Though this is unlikely a completely natural phenomenon from a horrid year like 1973 (chaptalization, a little Rhone added, or both?), it's impossible not to be charmed. Supple, nutty palate. Utterly drinkable, particularly with the roasted pintade alongside, these should be consumed now.

Domain released in magnum format owc in pristine condition. Bottle breathed for 15 minutes and last for 2+ hrs. Berry, earth, vanilla and light mint and tea leaf. Wine gotten better at the end. Still some tannin and strength and likely last for another 3-5 yrs or more if in pristine conditions.
