This wine is sleek, cool and filled with minerality. Very precise as the wine glides across the pallet, and all the flavors pop out at this point in its evolution. Still a bit tight and I would give it at least another three if not four years before opening another bottle. Interestingly, it is the best Folatieres I have had in several years. Very impressed

Acker Merrall Bicentennial Gala (Cipriani Wall Street - New York NY): Small glass from 3L, brief note. This is the "Domaine Louis Jadot" cuvee from Folatières proper. Rich and dense for the vintage with some more fat than typical, particularly to start. Leaner in the middle, but still rich. Probably best now through 2024.

Expressive round nose of apple, white fruit, and spice. Piercing palate with the same orchard fruit plus brown sugar, stones, some floral, and lots of acid on the backend. Another pretty 14.

What's interesting here is that the nose is very clean, with no oak, and yet the palate shows plenty of oak. Oaky palate, grippy texture. Pass. Young Jadot at Peking Duck House.

Louis Jadot Cellar Visit, Barrel Tasting and Lunch in the Vineyard (Beaune): Barrel tasting at Jadot. Note: Jadot produced two different Folatières cuvees in most vintages. Both are domaine. One is labeled "Domaine Louis Jadot" and is from Folatières proper, the other is "Domaine des Heretiers Louis Jadot" and is from the very special en la Richard climat within Folatières. This is the Heretiers cuvee. Quince, apple with great spice. Sensational flavors to start with noteworthy mineral textures. Good length, unfolding nuances coming through already 92-94 point potential here.
