Very dense Pinot. Dark ruby color matches it's flavor density. While a rich tasting wine, it is overly sweet and heavy that overpowers Pinot's normal delicacy and refinement.

The wine has evolved nicely over the last few months. The palate is more balanced and the tannins have become more integrated and velvety. A marked improvement over the last bottle and, of course, it’s my last from this vintage. 5+13+17+8=93

Purple and opaque. The nose is red and black fruit but less fruit forward than I expected, still pretty fruit forward though. The nose is ripe cherry, Plumb and vanilla. Not very Pinot-esk but drinks well. The palate is consistent with a touch of green pepper. The tannins are moderate to moderate minus, the acidity is moderate plus, and the alcohol is higher than the palate would suggest. 5+13+16+7=91

I have the pleasure of going to Beverley Hills about one a year and this seems to be prolific in 'regular' establishments there. So coupling that, along with the cool bottle, I had try one. So returning from LA, living in London and clicking on Amazon: a bottle arrived in a few days from the Czech Repuplic. Life is so simple.
There's not much to discern it's pinot, frankly. After 2 hours there's a medicinal end if you look for it - so my rating is based purely on happiness and completely disregards any wine textbook preconceptions. Yeah it's somewhat mono dimensional but absolutely pleasurable and has a lovely texture.

Served NYE as a follow-up to the 2013 Clark & Telephone. Dense fruit, rich in flavor, heavy viscosity, round mouthfeel. While this is a pinot noir, it drinks like a Cab with the denseness and structure one would expect, but the flavors are decidedly cherry-centric. Love this wine.

This is an interesting wine to review as it is quite nice, but it may not be the best representation of Pinot Noir.
It does feel like a great representation of California with lots of red berries, a hint of pepper and a tiny bit of vanilla. As it opened up with about 30-40 minutes of air, there was a smoky earth that started to appear, but it remained smooth and clean, with a mild tannin.
Enjoyable, easy and versatile - which are hallmarks (I think) of Pinot. But it did not come across as unique or containing any real character.
Definitely an overpriced wine that I would be happy to have a glass of, as long as I was not the one paying for it. I think this could easily be a wine that does not need a vintage as it probably won't develop overtime and will most likely fade steeply after 5 years.

It's been infrequent I try these wines, as like last night they show up with people who really dig the style in which these are made. It was the singular red on the table, I saw the bottle and figured I would try it, to both be respectful of the person who shared it, and to see what was under the cork. I kept an open mind and tasted the wine with that intention, but ultimately didn't care for it. This is simply not how I drink Pinot Noir. it shows dark, tastes thick, is overdone. I know this wine has a following and lots of people drink it, I just don't care for it.

Ripe and rich, this is a Pinot that will never be confused with Burgundy. Blackberry, raspberry, smoky black cherry and chocolate aromas are followed by similar flavors on a full-bodied palate. With low acidity, medium sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (despite being listed as 14.7%), it is a "fruit bomb" that stays solid in the middle and closes with good length. Nothing wrong with this take on the grape, but just understand that this is "New World" in every sense. Drink now-2019.

Very fruity nose with blackberry and dark fruits. Interesting pallet that has lots of ripe fruit, with perhaps some cookie or gingerbread and a lot of tannins. Jammy characteristics are also present, but it is way more elegant and less sweet than the Dairyman. Neutral on this wine - 91 points.

I'm not point scoring this wine. It's a great example of one of the most important limitations of point scoring. I'm referring to a bifurcation (*) of tastes, this style of wine manufacturing being in Parkerville, a place I sometimes intentionally visit when I'm in the rare mood. To me, this would be an 82, into the "Good" range. But for the life of me I can't distinguish this wall of hot extract, thick fruit paste, and hints of things ordered from a catalog from a mid-tier supermarket wine.
Another comment scored it a 91, adding "Drinks like a Cab." So we get into philosophical difference in addition to one of style - massive, bold, wines that ATTACK you, which project their will vs. ones that bend, that seek to reveal the grape and vineyard, that put complexity, even if muted, over power: Should a wine project the essence of the varietal from which it is made and the place and season in which it is grown. The manufacturers of this wine clearly answer "No!". I wonder how Pinot Noir can be beaten into such bloody submission. Simply exposing to heat and sun and hanging it out until it is packed with sugar cannot be enough. There is truly an art to creating such a bold statement as this wine.
But nevermind my bollucks, drink this wine up against the heartiest of grilled fare and you'll do well. In fact, something from its own backyard - a well seasoned tri-tip would be a great call. But whatever you go, don't pop this open looking for Pinot Noir. The wine is the message from its makers. The grapes were crushed.
* Really, it's not so simple and is more of a continuum.

Had this after an Argentina wine tasting event of 7 wines. Sorry Argentina, but this one blows away all of those 7. Heavier bodied than most pinots. Low tannins and coats the tongue. Fruit forward but no particular fruit dominates - maybe cherry and blueberry. Some creme brûlée type sweetness. Very smooth.

The color is a deep scarlet-red with lush aromas of blackberry bramble, nutmeg, and hint of caramel. The wine is fresh and exuberant in the mouth with sumptuous strawberry jam, ripe black cherry, cranberry and warm gingerbread. It is perfectly balanced with refreshing acidity, velvety tannins and a hint of toffee carrying through its long finish. FRM NLLiquor Corp

Agree with Buckwheet here, this wine is very candied and jammy and almost nothing else. No acidity, no tannin. Just simply fruit. A big fruit pinot is usually right up my alley but this one may be pushing it a little too far, even for me. Other years of this wine, such as 2008, were fantastic.

I am conflicted about how to review this wine. On the one hand, I find it to be a lush, jammy and highly quaffable wine. Paired with TX BBQ pork and beef ribs; it was great! It stood up just fine to the big smoky ribs AND BBQ sauce! I enjoyed this wine a lot! But therein lies my challenge. Question: How many Pinots could stand up to TX BBQ? Answer: Almost none that are true to the varietal. I could never pair a Côtes de Nuit with BBQ ribs. So I agree with other reviewers from prior vintages, this wine tastes more like a Caymus Cab or Central Coast Syrah than a Pinot. At 14.7% ABV, it is a beast! It has lot of vanilla and dark fruit and almost no tannin, acidity or subtlety. Just full throttle fruit. So, if you are a fan of pinots that Decanter magazine loves, you will probably hate this wine! But if you love the wines that Robert Parker loves (e.g. Turley, Martinelli, Caymus, etc.), I recommend trying a bottle. FYI, there is not much difference between this wine and their entry-level Meiomi. So for the money, I would just buy Meiomi and save $25-30/btl.
