This was really enjoyable throughout the evening and did not require a decant. Agreed about what others said about relatively lower acidity, but this worked quite brilliantly with a range of food of upscale regional Cantonese banquet with a lot of savory soy sauce and light spices with its fruit forward palate and nose. It worked with marinated goose breast, heavier flavored vegetables, and even pan fried noodles.

PDX nailed this at this stage. Faded fruits at this point - cranberry, raspberry - along with black tea on the nose and palate. A little fizzy and slightly metallic on the palate. Short, tart finish. Very little left here. Probably as good as it gets, especially for those who like "mature" Cali pinot. Drink up.

Left open without decant for an hour+. Cranberry, a little raspberry, black tea. Very mild oakiness. Medium acidity, tannins are subtle and integrated. Really enjoyable. Don’t think I’d hold these for much longer.

Opened not decanted. Sharp cherry attack on the entry; light to medium weight in body; dark cherry / red cherry notes on a semi dry finish. Good to Very Good.

Spectacular. All we could do not to consume the whole bottle - which we are learning we regret - little bit of smoke great fruit. Delicious. Will report on second half tomorrow

Berries, some spice, and bark - best after a decant for an hour - wish there was a bit more nose, agree with some of the other commenters re lacking in concentration.

3 hour decant on Fathers Day. A little initial bottle funk gives way to a balanced, if not spectacular Pinot noir. Good acidity, decent structure, but somewhat lacking in fruit and concentration.

Crunchy red fruits with a somewhat harsh palate. This is still a bit unbalanced, even with an hour or two of air. Not bad, but not one of my more favorite W-S Pinots.

Great balance of dark cherry fruit that is ripe but focused. There is supple texture with hints of cola and forest floor. Drinking well now and likely over the next 5 years.

Good PN. Relatively fruit forward and sun kissed, but still fairly balanced and harmonious, with nothing sticking out. Not too alcoholic, not too oaky, decent acidity, black and red fruits, pleasant tartness. Somewhat primary and simple but enjoyable. Not sure the QPR is particularly good (as has been the case with WS for years now). If I had more, I would revisit in 3-4 yrs. It may improve with addtl cellar time.

PNP, consumed over about an hour with little change over that time. Overall a nice wine, a little fruit forward with a short finish and a bit sweet. Could use a more body, complexity and finish. Cherry, strawberry with a hint of spices on the palate.

PnP, Clear, deep dark purple. Nice nose. This drank sharp, lean, racy and pure. The opposite of over extraction and somewhat surprising. Tight and closed at first sip, better after some air time. Nothing off. $63

I seem to be going against the tide on my impression of this wine compared to the other reviews. While it is a good wine, at $58 it should be outstanding. I have had many of their label before and love them, this one, not quite so much. It begins with a nose dominated by acidity with a woody terroir note, blackberry and stone fruit. Sipping it brings the woody note and cherry. The finish kicks in the acidity again. Maybe with more time it will be tamed a bit??

Translucent and a clean, notes of sweet cranberry and cherry cola on entry. Mid-palate notes of menthol and eucalyptus. Very nice wine. WS makes some of the best Sonoma Pinot's out there.
earth and spice above the glass. savory with big black tea note on the palate and a strong dose of acidity on the finish belies many years of improvement to come

Densely colored, good clarity and ruby to garnet color. The aromas are a bit tight and redolent of black cherries, chocolate, cinnamon, and earthy, floral notes. Tastes are sour cherry, earth, crannberry, with notes of Provencal spices and vanilla cream. Nice acids and sour, lengthy finish.

Dark fruit mix on the nose including strawberry, blueberry and cherry. Leading to similar flavors in the the mouth with an emphasis on dark Bing cherries. The wine is still young and wears a bit of tannic tartness which will round out in a year or so.

Raspberry, cherry notes + trace of cola. Continues to open up as you drink - would definitely decant for at least an hour
