overall, an attractively delicate brunello. ruby and transparent in colour. nose is a lovely melange of herbs, earth, tobacco, cherry, and freshly cracked pepper. palate is savoury, cured meat, sour cherry. very good. 91+

P: Dried raspberries, cranberry skin, rose petals, fresh, driven, rusted pennies, but manages to remain silky. Subtle, encroaching tannins that are incredibly fine grained (med+). Lacks either punch or complexity.
F: Some well manged heat that turns into freshness on the back palate. Cranberry skin, red apple.

Quite torn about this one: can't complain about the flavour, but it doesn't transcend its 14.5% abv and, whilst some sips are delicious, others are just a little too soupy; overall, the wine could do with brighter acidity. Attractive plummy fruit, floral aromas, some herbs and smoked meat, and good length, but not particularly drinkable or exciting.

Ruby Red. Nice perfumed complexity on the nose - hints of red and black cherries, earth and some charred oak. Medium to full bodied, high acidity providing vibrancy, with noticeable but softened tannins. Has a nice elegant intensity with a long finish. Excellent.

The nose is clean with medium intensity of aromas showing bright red fruit (cherry, raspberry, cranberry), oak (nutmeg, some resinous character, smoke) and bottle age (leather, wet leaves). The wine is developing.
The wine is dry with high acidity, high fine-grained tannins, high alcohol, medium (+) body, medium length and medium flavor intensity showing notes of ripe red fruit (strawberry, cherry, raspberry), oak (nutmeg) and bottle age (leather, wet leaves).
The wine is very good. It has some age on it, but the fresh primary notes are still well-highlighted by the high acidity. There is some oak character, but definitely not too much in relation to the bold fruit department. Even though this comes from a warmer vintage, the acidity and alcohol are showing great integration. Complexity is there without a doubt, but the length is shortened abruptly.

Bit hot on the nose without much fruit. Better on the palette with red berry fruit. Not much interest but quite pure. I hope for improvement, clearly AG thinks it has potential

Expressive on the nose with floral notes, ripe fruit, spices. On the palate vibrant, good acidity, generous fruit. The tannins are round and rather soft. Very good length. 91-92+

Slightly alcoholic nose with lovely aromas of roses and other flowers along with meat, black pepper and cedar. Medium bodied with flavors of cherries, wood spice and sage. Structured, tannic and moderately acidic.

Beautiful nose and solid structure. Dried flowers and roses and with lots of power on the palate. The elegance is just incredible, isn't no? One Italian taster asks. THat is true. Ripe and rich and spicy fruit.

On the positive side, lovely Brunello aromas of cherries, damp soil, coffee bean and tobacco leaf. But these are very soft and delicate; understated. A good structure on the palate (fresh acidity and grippy tannins) but flavour profile is again quite discreet and underwhelming. Was expecting something more expressive and open.
PS: Left half a bottle open, which after two days showed much richer expression. Full, open and rounded, displaying complex aromas of cherry flesh, thistle, dried leaf, cedar. Leaning more on the savoury and spicy notes. Palate had obviously lost some of its fruit, but was still soft, rounded and with enough acidity to make this very moreish. A pleasant surprise.

Restrained, silky, yet savoury style. A bit hollow on the mid palate, doesn't hit Brunello's or producer's usual quality.
N: lifted, racy, fresh, tertiary, almost spearmint, crushed graphite, wet iron. Classic sangio nose.

Fine Wines SG - Italian Varietal Wine Dinner - Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Corvina, Aglianico, Nerello Mascalese (Porters Restaurant & Bar): Pretty fleshy while the acid seems lessened, mostly of blackberry and raspberry
