This bottle was drinking quite well right now Full fruit and nice full, smooth and lush mouth-feel. a bit of dry ans till slightly tight tannin on the finish. A previous bottle was too early to drink so it has developed nicely.

The tannins were more integrated on night two. Although most cellar trackers have drunk through their stash, I suspect it might be beneficial to wait a little while before finishing off whatever bottles are left.

Bouquet is mainly blueberry with some vanilla. Flavour is more cherry with some leathery tones. Nice round body that lingers but tannins are still quite strong. Did not decant so may revise note after leaving this out for a period of time. Could stay in the cellar still. Quite like the flavour profile and richness would be great when tannins soften.

This wine pours a very dark purplish color. The nose was a little subdued - got a few hints of dark fruits, baking spices, and a ton of oak. The palate is definitely full bodied, tannins are nicely integrated, but holy cow is this thing HOT! A ton of alcohol on the mid palate and just ruins the finish. This would be a lot more enjoyable if it did not have so much alcohol. It is extracted, oaky, and hot - I can see the mass appeal but this is not for me.

Drank over two nights. Deep purple in color. Blackberry, blueberries, truffle, licorice on the nose. Full bodied wine, but not overly heavy despite the 16% alcohol. Tannins have smoothed and this is in a great spot right now, but has 5+ left for sure. Really enjoyed it.

A brooding, rich and slightly extracted wine that has a touch of raisins and almost liqueur like with the almost 16% alcohol. Reminds me a bit of a 2007 CDP. Woke up with a headache this morning.

The sweetness of Grenache with the barnyard properties of Syrah forms a combination that is hard to resist. There is a bit of heat from the alcohol (15,7%) but the fruit and acidity nicely compensates for this. Licorice, pepper, lots of fruit, thick and creamy. Full bodied. Excellent QPR. Note: I just discovered that the bottles I have are 2013 vintage, not 2014

Woof. Huge mouthful of cherry/berry jam mixed with something nasty like the fat that turns to jelly at the bottom of an old refrigerated rotisserie chicken. One glass was enough. On a 20 pt rating scale from 80-100, this one gets a 3.

For a big wine w/ high alcohol, this masks it pretty well. Really bursting w/ all the flavors that you'd expect between Grenache, Syrah & PS. At $30, this is also a pretty good value - much more approachable/friendly than a straight PS.

Got this as a gift with no description. Poured it and sat down to score. I noticed it was an Orin Swift but that was it. The full dark fruit blasted out of the glass on the nose. A big plum, blueberry kind of thing but also different. IT didn't ring Cab or Merlot. On the palate, the spice jumped out so I knew we were talking Syrah in the blend. Going Syrah and Orin Swift, I start thinking Zin for the fruit but didn't quite fill it in as the fruit was too deep and inky for pure Zin/Syrah. I should have thought Petite Syrah. That explains the inkiness. I probably would have not picked up on Grenache as the PS and Syrah dominate the palate but the Grenache clearly gives it that stable based and backbone that was making me think Zin. So not bad for working it out but I should have figured the PS. I would have if I thought harder about it.
Overall, the wine is pretty good. It's a big black cherry and dark fruit forward wine laced with peppery spice. full body and limpidity. Legs crawl down the glass. Balance is good. Leans a bit more to the fruit and if the Syrah weren't there it would go too much so. Hard to tell on acidity and alcohol. I'd say moderate but the palate could mask a lot hotter wine than it seems. Just looked and sure enough, 15.7.
This things on fire! I am anxious to see this one unwind for a couple hours and see what happens.
Really good, dark fruit, plum, and just enough oak. Some have commented on sweetness, but I didn't see it that way at all. Everyone at the table enjoyed it. Paired well with my filet mignon in a wok at Pf chang. Btw Pf chang only charges 10 dollars cork fee, that's a fantastic deal!

Purple ink colr, dark core. Aromas of baked fruit, oakcoal and gummy bears (sic). Off dry, low acidity, medium(-) soft tannin, high alcohol and full body. Medium(+) flvors of cherry, preserved red fruit, pepper, loads of oak. Glycerinic texture, alcohol giving off heat. Power at the expense of balance and elegance. Long, sweet and hot finish.

Vinturi-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours (at a serving temperature of approximately 60°F), this opaque crimson bruiser (primarily Grenache, supported by smaller aliquots of Petite Sirah and Syrah) is not for those who limit themselves to restrained, "feminine" wines. Packed with blackberry, black cherry and black currant fruit, it is accented by notes of licorice, lavender and Asian spices. Full-bodied and low in acidity, it wraps the flavors with substantial fine-grained tannins, nicely-integrated oak and non-problematic alcohol (despite being listed as 15.7%). Impressively solid in the middle and closing with equally impressive length, this is a hedonistic "fruit bomb" that is very well-done. It should be at its best over the next 5-7 years. Drink now-2023.

This hasn't come together yet, but this shows mouth-filling fruit with impressive depth and enough spice to hint at great things to come. Best guess is that this still needs 5 years, maybe more, but everything is in place to make this a go-to for special occasions.

Not ready yet, but big potential. Enjoyed a couple of sips of a 1.5 liter format of this at Thanksgiving, which shone compared to the other wines we were drinking. Intrigued, I stopped by Bedford Wines on a trip back from CT and picked up a 750ml.
This hasn't come together yet, but this shows mouth-filling fruit with impressive depth and enough spice to hint at great things to come. Best guess is that this still needs 5 years, maybe more, but everything is in place to make this a go-to for special occasions.

Nice tasting. Mild fruits. Paired with Asian style burgers. Good with the beef. Would definitely buy again at this price.

Another great wine by Orin Swift. Hard to beat the value of the Bordeaux blend.
