Delicious smelling moderately dark Zinfandel. Nose is delicious, smells of baked dark fruits and slight green vegetation. Wine drinks very well, balanced and even, flavors are just right even keeled. This wine feels like a good pair with a meal, not too heavy, but just right.

Black raspberry, dark cherry, vanilla, and brambly spice. Medium-full bodied. Medium-plus acidity. Medium, integrated tannins. Medium-plus, spicy finish. Went well with wood grilled pork chop and on its own. I really like that this isn't your typical, jammy Zinfandel. I'd drink this over the next 2-3 years.

This is a mountain cab lovers zinfandel!!! Bramble, spice, red-fruited, full-bodied and tannic for a zin. This opened up blah and gradually evolved over 2 hours open. A very different style than the Bedrock/Carlisle we normally drink -- this was less exhuberent fruit, more structure and bramble, and complexity was a toss up. This paired very well with a balsamic salmon & roasted veggie dinner. Without the food this zin was a little more tight & tannic than I would prefer, so I'm curious how this will be with some age. Light purple and garnet in the glass. Aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and hints of fresh plums. Very fruity in the attack giving way to white pepper and spice and nice smooth tannins.

Spring Mountain/St. Helena Day Trip: Tasted at winery. Red fruit, bramble, spice; tannic. This had a long finish but with minimal complexity. Overall quite good!

Not your typical jammy zin at all! Peppery, baking spice, blackberry, earthy notes. Hint of tobacco and smoke.

Still a cab drinker's zin, showing some tannins to go with the mountain fruit.
Bramble, anise, leather, spice, silky tannins. Long finish.

Same as my June 2016 note, down to the scores. This paired well with lasagna w/ fresh basil.
