Mainly Oregon (Noizé): Blind. Mid straw. Quite ripe and full on the nose. Unctuous and really quite leggy. Spiced pineapple with some cream on the finish. Not my trad style, but there’s lots here to like. ****

The evolution continues. This is now showing a slightly more ‘elegant new world’ profile with some melon and a touch of pear, retaining the honeysuckle top notes. Now a little broader on the finish with a sense of less well defined line, and a little less persistence on the finish. ****

Pale straw. Very Puligny in style. Floral with a touch of honeysuckle. Nicely mineral. Subtle padding through the attack and mid palate. Mid palate complexity and a bright finish. This remains lovely and has moved forward a little cf 18 months ago. ****

Light gold, clearing at the rim. With some air, increasingly powerful notes of citrus, ginger, lemongrass and green apple readily emerge from the glass. In the mouth, the wine is medium-bodied and is loaded with pears, mint and what feels like liquified stone. Finishes very long, with a big puff of chalk and serious cut. This seriously impressive wine has power to spare, yet possesses uncommon grace and refinement. Simply terrific! 12.8% ABV. 95.

Still on the young side but very well made. Citrus, white flowers and a hint of exotic fruits held in check by a mineral spine. Good balance and fresh. Long. Top-drawer Oregon Chardonnay. 92-93pts.

Ben's USA @ Brunswick House (Brunswick House): Double-decanted four hours. Clean and fresh with melon and slightly pear-scented aromas. Nicely mineral and lean without being mean. A white fruited florality. Consistent with my previous note. ****

Very pale. Minerally and white fruit stone nose. Only 12.4% ABV but the texture / chewiness would make one think there's more substance here. Clean and relatively neutral palate that is initially about the texture, this takes a couple of hours to open up and start to show more white-fruited flavours, possibly a hint of pear, alongside the textural chewiness and fresh minerality. Subtle and nuanced, this requires quiet consideration and could get overlooked alongside showier wines. Look forward to seeing how this develops overnight with some more air. 91/**** The following lunchtime this has opened up very nicely. The white stone fruit and lightly floral elements have developed slightly without losing the minerality and texture. It's moved from a 1er Chablis without the oysters to decent Puligny territory. Still subtle and nuanced but lots of interest for those that look. 92/****

Floral, citrus and apple / pear up front with minerality and salinity in the middle and a long finish... nice!
