Lychee nut, floral, minerality. Great with Asian food or other white meat (or veggie) spicy food...cuts right through it with a gentle butter knife. 89 is the top of Very Good in the CellarTracker rating scale, so there I am.

This is a super nice summer sipper. Beautiful floral nose. Even a sweetness above the glass, almost Riesling-like. Not a hint of sweetness on the palate. Creamy mid-palate, substantial acid to make it food friendly.

I've had plenty of malvasia before, but this is the first one I've come across from California. A very pale straw colour. Light bright nose with pear fruit, white flowers and a hint of smoked fish. Fascinating palate. There's a richness but it's also searingly dry. Quite powerful character, but also really rather elegant. It feels quite low in acidity, but there's a slightly sour green fruit note that almost compensates. A really interesting wine and from a most unexpected region.

Tart with lots of minerality. A bit lean and light-bodied, but still substantial enough with enough acid to stand up to food. Got a bit of a floral nature as well - reminds me a bit of a Viognier. Finish is pleasant but doesn't last long - leaves a faintly metallic taste at the very end. Would definitely have it again, but not a robust fall white or anything like that.
Smells of honeysuckle, tastes dry and citrusy (mostly lime and grapefruit).

The nose is lemons and flowers, with the palate following up with a similar profile. On the very tart side, with bracing acidity, this went well with sushi.

Interesting wine! Very aromatic, a little over the top with green notes reminding of Sauvignon Blanc with added tropical and floral flavours (à la Viognier). Rather heavy but balanced by good acidity. I would not know how to score this different and personal wine.

You gotta be kidding…. the intense aromatics on this thing is borderline insanity. It’s huge and intoxicating, like sharing an elevator with a woman so strongly perfumed that you swoon a little. Once you reel your head back in and drink, the body is round and perfectly weighted with bright acidity, and drenched in a surprising minerality that balances out well-defined flavors of orange blossom and jasmine, melon, dried herbs and a fascinating savory mustard note on the long back end. A heady and wonderful experience with or without food, and also holds up well chilled for a few days after.

My first experience with Malvasia. Quite enjoyed this wine, complex and fresh. A perfect summer wine with food.
