Sorry to bring this down... Deep yellow color with shades of brown around the edges. Heavy oxidation even after standing for an hour. Kept testing for any sign of Chardonnay but this was lost and past its prime for
this bottle. Glad to see of a few others seem to be drinking well in 2010, mine was not.

Wow. This was a really wonderful chardonnay. I am tempted to say it has a couple of years in front of it, but it is too good to wait any longer. Drink up while it is still drinking so good.

Ar first I thought that this bottle was flawed when I pulled the cork. The wine was a deep golden color and seemed a bit oxidized. I decanted the bottle and after letting it breathe for an hour the wine tasted much better. Nonetheless, this wine should be drunk as I believe that it is well into decline.

Deep golden color, dusty aromas that brought out (after an hour and slightly warmer) orange rind and malo buttery tone. Enjoyable but should be consumed now. Better than I thought it was going to be after first taste...90 points

Delicious; golden and lushious; rich - consumed at Porter House restaurant with Tim and Joao to celebrate Joao's birthday. Great with the appetizers (mostly seafood, oysters, lobster bisque, etc.)

I was convinced upon pulling the cork that I had a flawed bottle. Deep golden yellow, with a nose of burnt caramel and seawater (?). This was no drinkable and I went back to the cellar to pull something else. After an hour, I was less convinced the bottle was flawed, and after two hours I’m now certain that this wine just needs a very long time to unwind. It’s not pretty in the meantime. A thick honey like caramel nose still remains, with viscous lemon drop. Not huge and missing much of the tropical fruit that you often get form a Kistler. This wine is in decline, that is for certain, but if you have two hours to decant, it an be okay. Subdued and short finish that ends with a clipped and heavy butterscotch.

I’m not sure if it was this bottle, or if the 1999 Noisetiers is beginning to turn downwards. The least impressive bottle of Noisteries that I have had. Initial components in the mouth reveal a sharp astringency, usually seen in much older wines that have peaked. Notes of lemon zest and tropical fruit and present, but the initial sharp nature really mask them and put a damper on what might otherwise be a good bottle of Kistler. Will try another bottle.

This wine which I really didn't like much upon release due the huge amount of wood that showed has evolved into a great bottle of wine. As a previous poster has noted this chard is at it's peak now and I will drink my remaining bottles over the coming year. A beautiful chardonnay.

Very dark yellow color. Wine is holding quite well and is better now than when it was released. I was afraid it might be going over the hill but it actually at it's peak. I will still drink my remaining bottles over the coming year.

Initially a bright golden color. Butterscotch and vanilla on the nose. Tangerine and grapefruit on the palate along with lots of oak. The acid was there to balance the oak. A long complex finish. As the wine opened up the color lightened to a pale yellow. The oak and vanillas mellowed and the finish increased in complexity and length. I was worried that this wine might be a little past it’s prime. After tasting, I think it has plenty of life to go. Very enjoyable.

Light French oak nose with some minerals, gravel, and nuts. Medium-full bodied with some restrained pear fruit on the palate. Finishes with toast and some more nuts. Pretty good but doesn't earn the hype. Other tasters likened this to a new-world Meursault.

Wild and Gamey OL at the Youngs' (Yquem, Musar, Goubert, SQN and more) (Chez J.R. and Renee, San Jose, CA): Medium gold color; rich vanilla oak and lanolin nose; tasty, solid, creamy Chardonnay palate, restrained tropical flavors and good acid; medium-plus finish 92+ pts.

Better than last one, but not that great. It's best years were back in '02-'04. Last bottle.

Yuk. Deep dark yellow. Almost brown. Smelled & tasted either corked or past. I'm guessing past. Ellen thought corked. 1 bottle left.

TOASTY NOSE WITH APRICOTS, GREEN APPLES, AND PEACHES. FLAVOR LIKE THE NOSE WITH CRISP CITRUS FLAVORS. NICE ACIDITY AND A MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
