2/24/2024 12:30:00 PM - Hi S. Eagle, Are you a fan of Russell Bevan's wines?

  • Screameagle says:

4/24/2018 2:27:00 PM - Yes I've heard of the Historic Vineyard Society having been a lover of zin for many years. I met Mike Officer at ZAP in 1999 when he was at the home wine maker table. I still have a bottle of his 1st vintage 1998 in my cellar. Been buying carlisles ever since and turned a lot a friends into carlisle lovers. We like the Bedrock wines a lot too. I see you have a lot of Bordeaux in your cellar. I only bought big in bordeaux in the '82 vintage based on Parker's recommendation. The $3.00 and $5.00 82's were great. We've been going to Napa for many years starting when you could buy a good bottle of napa cab for $10.00. One of the first times we went to Napa we went to Caymus and old Charley Wagner was behind the counter in his overalls. Napa cab wine prices have gone crazy at this point. We love the Mike Smith cabs and all the wines that Thomas Rivers Brown makes especially the Rivers Marie wines. Lately we have fallen in love with the Paso wines. We've been buying the Saxum wines from the first vintage the 2000. If you ever get to NJ perhaps we can put together a wine dinner with friends.

1/26/2015 9:04:00 AM - Hi Rich. I was going to be selling off my remaining wine since I was diagnosed with cancer. I know you and I share similar tests so wanted to offer you anything in my cellar if you are interested. I could deliver to Mountainside as I will be staying in Summit part of the time. Just thought I'd offer. Best. Tom

3/5/2013 5:23:00 PM - New to wine collecting. My college age son got me hooked and is quite the expert. I really enjoy your reviews and trust your palate. Keep up the good work!

12/17/2012 9:19:00 PM - Hi. I noticed we have many wines in common. I am frequently traveling to NJ and see you are in Mountainside. It would be great to meet and hear about your thoughts on wine if you would be willing. My best wishes for a wonderful holiday season. - Tom
