Absolutely, spot on, classic Bordeaux notes throughout the nose and palate…. With a twist. A bite. Of spice, steep slope Syrah minerality, and crispness. What an intellectually-stimulating bottle, offering the initial inclinations of grandma’s hug (perhaps a side-hug) that left bank Bordeaux prototypically shows off with 15-20 years of age, combined with bold — almost brash — Côte Rôtie characteristics. Playful cacao, blue & black fruit, and lingering must (Maddy’s note). Tannins yet to soften, this wine has a decade or more to go before peaking

First Trevallon and really not disappointed. Wow. Already quite evolved. Superb nose, complex and spicy. Attack on the palate bit aggressive, bit rough. But fades away on a super long savory finish.

Medium+ intensity with black currant, laurel, kirsch, black plum, fig, blackberry jam, broth, bell pepper powder, bacon, meaty, sour cherry. Medium+ acidity, long finish. Bottle 1077 of 6200
Big wine, not as elegant as I would like

En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Seven (Bordeaux): "Served blind. I got wild black fruits; berries, chalky minerality and tannins, a little pepper and a certain amount of rusticity coupled to a little garrigue and baked earth. This one stumped me - I got to Southern France and Shiraz with about 5-8 years of age"

BlindFaith.Online Blind Tasting Competition Season 5: France vs ROW.
Wine 8 Notes: Ruby red with a little garnet. Very interesting nose - there are black fruits and tobacco and a slightly high-toned character. Lovely mouthfeel, it's powerful but elegant with more black fruits, plenty of acidity, and smoky cigar smoke notes on the long finish.
My guess: I went France - but thought N. Rhone - Syrah maybe Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle 2007. Not really close. I think this bottle felt older than it is.

Medium ruby, gaurrique, rose, lavender, tar, sweet salmiak, black fruit. Grippy tannins that are well integrated. Medium acidity. Long. Balanced and linear. At the start of its drinking window, should keep another 10+ years

A private dinner (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): An equal blend of Syrah and Cabernet-Sauvignon, 100% whole bunch, spontaneous fermentation, aged for 24 months in foudres and barriques with minimal racking, light fining with egg whites, bottled unfiltered, 13% ABV. Marvellous freshness and precision, both the Syrah and the Cabernet-Sauvignon find a beautifully clear expression, effortless balance and weight, perfectly integrated tannins, iron and earth, excellent length. Unique style. Will age very well.

Served blind. My first encounter, and a privileged one at that. Loads of bright red berry notes, some herbs and smokiness. I mistook it for a more rustic blend. Once revealed, the Cab. component was more evident, though Cab. with stem inclusion is a bit of a head fake. Give these some time and they should really show well.

Déjà très bien intégré et suave. Animal et fruits noirs. Tanins soyeux. Délicieux maintenant. Je ne m'attends pas à ce qu'il se bonifie beaucoup dans les prochaines années.

Dark fruits, dense structure with a moderate acidity and firm tannins. Long finish. Still a little hit and young for my palate - needs another 5 years in the bottle.

medium red with slight brownish glimmers. appealing nose of cherries, violets, lavender. pleasant floral aromas integrating nicely with the fruit elements. later adds a cooling dimension of peppermint. cherries and lavender in the mouth with a touch of earth and rosemary. hints of barn and leather that do get more pronounced over time. perceptible dryness and tannins dampen the mood somewhat. lovely nose and the mouth does open up nicely after 30 mins or so

Deeply satisfying. Showing the Syrah more than the Cab, and the terroir more than the cepage, with plenty of earthy, meaty flavors to offset the fruit.

Pop and pour then drunk over 2 nights. Dark crimson colour. Some herbs and a little funk on the nose, dark red fruit, with the funk fading on the nose on the 2nd night. On the palate, savoury, dried herbs, medium + acidity, not intense but the finish lingers. Interesting on night 1 without food, went really well with lamb shanks on night 2 and really shone with the food.
