One hour decant. Very deep dark magenta color. Black cherry, baker’s chocolate, peony, blood orange, an old stack of Vogue magazines, and shiitake mushroom on the complex nose. Smooth, very dry palate. Full, soft tannins on the longish finish.

One hour slow ox. Very deep dark magenta color, with no signs of age. Honey, blackberry and cherry cola on the brooding nose. Smooth, dry palate. Firm tannins on the medium long finish.
This is drinking beautifully and has lots of life left. Pretty impressive for Regusci’s entry level Cab that was $50/bottle upon release.

Four hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Menthol, blueberry scone, prune, anise and black olive on the nose. Smooth, dry palate with good acidity. Firm tannins on the medium long finish. This is still improving and would have benefited from longer decant at this stage. Very nice nonetheless.

From the winery. Was hoping for more - pretty congested at first. On the 2nd day a bit better but still a bit muddled and wayward. Pretty nice acidity, but feels quite overpriced. I sense no black, red or blue fruit; pretty odd. I would not peg this as a cab, but it has some charm.

90 min decant. Deep, dark ruby magenta color. Boysenberry and oaky vanilla on the fragrant nose. Smooth palate and full, round tannins on the medium long finish. This really need a two or three hour decant to hit its full stride. It’s a classic Stag’s Leap ‘13 Cab.

30 min decant (I was short on time). Deep dark purplish ruby color. Cinnamon toast, no. 2 pencil (wood and lead), and black cherry on the nose. Smooth, acidic palate with lots of graphite. Firm tannins on the long finish. This was drinking very young.
24 hours later (in decanter in fridge for 20 hours) this was truly singing and became 93 points. Lots of anise on the nose. Very smooth palate. Round tannins on the medium finish. 3 - 12 hour decant is likely ideal for this wine (this year).

This was opened 24 hours before drinking due to plans that changed at the last minute. Even so, this still benefited from formal two hour decant. Deep, dark magenta color. Slate, prune, anise and shiny penny on the serious nose. Smooth palate, with good acidity and hints of fig jam and pine cone. Round, full tannins on the medium finish. Hard to go wrong with this CS.

89-90 A little thin relative to the Angelos or Patriarch. Relatively basic Napa Cab, probably not the best QpR. Not really my style but a well made wine. Big ripe dark fruit, big oak presance and good length finish.

Four hour decant. Drake purplish color. Blueberry reduction, charred oatmeal cookie and some cedar on the brooding nose. Lively acidity on smooth palate. Rounded tannins on medium finish. This has several years to go before it peaks and it's already wonderful.

2.5 hour aeration (in menu decanter used as traditional decanter, but ultimately poured back in bottle). Beautiful deep purple hue. Rich nose of anise, leather, dark chocolate and dark fruit. Smooth palate and medium level no finish with soft, but present tannins.

Decanted 4 hours. Dark maroon purple. Maple, dark fruit, saddle leather and cardboard on rich nose. Bread pudding and buttered prune on smooth palate: Rounded tannins on medium long (almost truly long) finish.

Decanted two hours. Fragrant nose of red and black fruit, strong oak and prune. Full palate. Tannic, medium long finish. This guy is finally drinkable, but 4-6 hour decant is advisable. It's good, but still needs time.

Yes indeed....a good bottle to cellar for at least 3 years....should be very good nose with some time...2012 maybe a little fuller at the start of opening this spring, 2017.

Lots of cedar on the nose after 5 hour decant. Still very tight with lots of bitter tannin on the palate. I'm aging several bottles at room temp and several others in my cellar. Hoping to speed this up, but not expecting this to turn into a 4.0 at room temp.
I had a 2005 Regusci Cab (Angelo's) yesterday, so it wasn't fair having this 2013 today. It's definitely high quality, but very young. The nose was non-existent at first, but 4 hours after decanting, things STARTED to warm up. Probably several years before this becomes rich with a wonderful nose.

My last of these. Good power, drinking well enough at this stage of development.

Better than the previous one I had - high acidity and energy. Much better on the 2nd day - more rich and deep.

Drinking well, but could use another year or two to fully smooth out.

Dark purple in the glass with black fruit, oak, pepper and a hint of cinnamon on the mid palate. Tannins smooth out after a 30 minute decant.
