Rose dinner at Chaoshan: Probably my least favourite of the night. Lots of barnyard funk and nail varnish on the nose that almost made the wine vinegary, high acid and tartness that wasn't backed up by the fruit. Probably would have been better younger. Valentini's rose is on another level to this.

Un rosé, rouge.... Couleur rubis. Nez envoûtant d'épices, de fraise. Un vin long et complexe, gouleyant notes d'épices, de cerise. Assez déroutant, plus un rouge léger qu'un rosé. Excellent.

Pink violet. The nose is modest, raspberry, current, a little wet dirt. The palate is flavored as a light red, cranberry, underripe red cherry, some stone, but distinctly and pleasantly tart and stony. The finish follows the palate with a little pucker, and minor heat on the back end. Definitely a style I enjoy, although I have liked it better with different grapes.

pnp, served fairly cool, bigger rose than most, the 14.5% shows in the biggness of the wine, sparky, somewhat spritzy, fairly significant tannins. Overall fun and tasty.

Red fruits, dried herbs, tomato leaf. High acidity. Rare example of a rose that can actually age.
