The Trebbiano is a grape that gives you maximum pleasure when produced by wineries such as Emidio Pepe. Luscious, delicate and full palate. Long finish, longer pleasure.

Translucent pale lime green; lovely aromatic nose of limestone, masonry, wall board, guava, glue, minerals, really cool, interesting, but not funky per se; mouthfilling and lovely on the palate, med. long finish. Really liked this, top of its game with this vintage IMHO. Kind of got buried by the funky orange wines though. Italian Whites aperitivo

A calm and even wine. There's no real discernable fruit but plenty of mineral and some wild herb things. It is waxy and textural, revealing something interesting with every sip. It has volume and power without weight and length to burn. It is hard to describe but easy to drink.

Lovely nose of masonry, reductive notes, orchard fruit skins, hay, really interesting and pretty expressive; full-ish body, silky with good lift in the backend. fantastic with the radish salad and tarajin shroom pasta. Antico

Abbruzzo study (Chicago, IL): Smoky on the nose, with just a slight bit of funkiness here. There are some subtle peachy notes on the nose as well, but the most prominent aspect seems to be the waxiness. Far lower in acidity than the Tiberio wines, this also displays a lot more oxidative characteristics. One of the relatively cleaner wines in the Pepe flight.

Came off as one-dimensional, perhaps opened too young though I revisited it over 24 hours. Challenging nose, sort of a cider aroma if cider was wrung through a sponge? More apple and some citrus on the palate, monolithic rather than nuanced. A touch of oxidation (of course). Maybe in a better vintage?

Stunning, even without lots of age. Full of character, chlorophyl, nectarine skin, blanched almonds, green onion, other...complex, intense, long. absolutely perfect with gnochi in white sauce. At Trattoria San Giuseppe in Siena.

Color: Golden yellow similar to Muser Blanc in color. Smell: This wine smells more like Cantillon beer than any other wine I've had in my life. If you like the smell of Cantillon or Drie Fontaine, you'll love the smell of this wine. It's basically notes of cider, camomile tea, with a faint hint of smokiness in the background. Taste: This seems a bit oxidized initially, apples, lime, kiwi dominate the palate with a lingering dryness on the finish. Overall: Well, once again. I had to know what the Pepe wines were like...and even though this is young, I'm glad I opened it. I'm not sure what or how to assess this wine to be honest. It reminds me a bit like the LdH Rioja Blancs or Muser Blanc. It's singularly unique and as weird as it is...I think I really like it. I'd be curious to see what a bottle like this with some age on it is like. For now...I'd say that it's excellent with room to improve. It's certainly a wine that's worth trying if you like white wines and you want something very unique.

Calm wine, took about 15 minutes to open up, paired with pork. Limestone, minerals, and a bit of acid.

Charleston V - the wooden anniversary; 11/6/2019-11/10/2019 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): This was very enjoyable. Lots of acid and brightness and easy to drink. Almost felt a touch crunchy in style. Went very well with a seafood crudo.
