Dense coloring with ruby to garnet edges. Smells like dark and dark red fruits, farmyard funk, mushrooms, and graphite. Medium body, acid and finish, with flavors of cassis and blackberry, and graphite minerality. Smooth and tasty, if simple. Seems like it's made for the California Cabernet crowd.

3 years in my cellar and a P&P thru a Vinturi brought out the classic CdP I like so much. The "dumb phase" I wrote abouit in 2019 is GONE! A LOT left in this wine for the future. I am opening another because this was so enjoyable with its' bright fruit, garrique, baking spice and smooth palate feel.

PnP - a bit muted, so decanted for 30 minutes. Opened up very nicely to aromas of black fruits, cherries, tea, tobacco and earth. Fruit was spicy, slightly ripe and round (but not a fruit bomb!) with nice energy and complex flavors of black cherries, strawberries, forest floor and a bit of garrigue. displaying strong, spicy lift to the dark berry and floral pastille flavors. Finish was long with some smoke, spice, and dusty but modest tannins. Drinking superbly now, well stored bottles should remain at peak for 3+ years.

A nose of some fruit, flowers and spice, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied CDP, with cherry, raspberry, tea and spice on finish, was very good. www.winelx.com

Very enjoyable from start to finish. Fresh aromas of cassis, wet earth, ripe black plums with notes of licorice and raspberry puree. Bold structure still but definitely drinking nicely now. Keep in your cellar awhile if you like too, this has lots of life yet.

Possibly poor storage, of just an unfortunate phase in its normal storage life. Anyway, 2006 Dehesa la Granja beat it without any problems. Still a decent wine, though.

Southern Rhône trip with Rainer. Tasted at the Domaine. 14.5% ABV. Medium ruby; lighter in colour than the prior wines. More red fruit-driven and more elegant but less concentrated and structured than the 2017. Well-balanced, with fresh acidity, well-integrated tannin and good length. This could even be enjoyed now. For short- and mid-term drinking. Good.

Enjoyable, but may be entering its' "dumb" peculiar phase at around 5 years. I will try decanting one soon and if not significantly better, I will wait another 2 yrs or so to try again.

By the glass. Double sensation: traditional on the nose with hints of undergrowth, moist earth, boletus and modern in the mouth with a dense texture, full of fruit like black berries and plums. The best that smoky sensation coming from the wood. In my opinion it does not have charm nor elegance but just drinkable.

This wine seems very young, but isn't so bad now. I'm definitely going to pick up a few more bottles to leave alone for a few years.
Aromas of baked blueberries, blackberry, and lavender. Silky on the palate with hints of cedar/cigar box. Long finish dances up and down the spice aisle: cloves, licking a cinnamon stick, or biting a vanilla pod.

Smoky, soft, silky, fresh, sweet, red fruits, elegant textures and a polished, kirsch, silky filled finish is already fun to taste is what you'll find here. Made from a blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah, this is ready to go.

Promising out of bottle but a little too much funkiness (garrigue?) develops after a couple of hours

Took to Victoria for Christmas. Great with turkey dinner. Should have had a decant but was still very good.

Very pleasant drinking. Well balanced not as fruit forward as the Gigondas from the same night. Wine club.

Printemps du Châteauneuf-du-Pape tasting. (La salle des fêtes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape): In the bouquet fresh red berries. On the palate cherries and raspberries, mild acidity and tannin. Very good wine with a future into the early 2020’s.
