Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Light ruby. Something estery and off about the nose. Medium bodied but round, glycerine feel. Smoky black fruit, some green tones, excellent acidity, long vein of earth, and a somewhat harsh, tannic finish. I wonder if this was a pristine bottle. On the other hand, I had a similarly difficult time with it last year. Certainly bigger than the 2016, but not better, at least at this point. Its hard to be sanguine about its long term prospects as it may have some problems.

Quite tight at first but breathes up nicely. There's spice laden cherry and plum fruits. It is rich, layered and generous, with a velvety feel against the gums. There's good mineral detail and an expansive finish. Mid-weight, balanced and delicious.

La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Walkaround vertical tasting. Bigger, ripe, and bolder than the 2016 but with less energy or textural brilliance. Slightly firm still and also very cellarworthy.

The Verticals Tasting at 2023 La Paulée (Eventi Hotel, New York): Deep red. Slightly confected nose. Medium + weight. Dry, earthy finish. Hard to read now. Much more closed than when tasted in 2018.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Similar flavors and aromas to the Villages, but bigger, more spiced and more firm. Very good length, energy and textural charm. 92-93 point potential.

Paulee. Attractive, integrating well versus one year ago.

Slightly darker than village Vosne, nicely medium rich, medium cherry, touch of spice, excellent acidity, quite nice.

La Paulée de SF Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): Intense Vosne spice on the nose. Great depth and richness. The fruit is fleshy yet their is serious structure to the wine. Will need time. 93-95+

Some Wines from the 2018 La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2015 Burgundy (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Red. Beautiful aromatic mix of red fruit, spice, and soil. Light, lovely feel, flavors of subtle cherry that is not sweet and soil. Should provide much short and medium term pleasure.

Wednesday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Paul Pernot, Grivot and Hudelot-Noellat (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. 20% whole cluster for the entire lineup in 2015. Mostly black fruit aromas and flavors, all very ripe, but nicely supported with structure so well balanced. Sweet and savory spice, very classically Vosne. VG+ for its level.
