The oak wasn't overpowering, but it obscured the sauv. blanc character enough so that I could almost think I was drinking a fairly nice chardonnay. Not worth what I paid for it, but a good wine if matched with the right food An easy wine to sip. It just didn't have the characteristics that identify it as a sauv. blanc.

Blend of Sauvignon Blanc (79%) & Semillon (21%). Pale yellow color w/ excellent clarity. Fresh, grassy aroma; floral notes; lemon. Smooth, light, fruity flavors of lemons, flowers, & mild oak. Well balanced, soft texture from the Semillon component. More fruit-forward than most White Bordeaux, but more in that style than the in-your-face citrus bombs from New Zealand. Overall, excellent, especially at Costco’s price of just $12.99!

Way too heavy on the oak right now. On the nose, I get coconut, vanilla, a little caramel and nothing else. Palate is incongruous. Oak, vanilla, coconut, a tiny bit of fruit (pineapple, banana?), alcohol heat. Decent acidity though. I’m willing to give my other several years to see if it develops into anything more than this.

Lots of herbs, smoke, citrus notes, good weight on the palate and a nice pairing with Alaskan crab legs.

Past its prime. Slightly corked. Bottle of same wine consumed last year was delicious.

Enjoyed this more than the Stag’s Leap. No grapefruit. Like the oak influence here.
