Fairly golden color. Some oxidation, burnt orange on the nose. You can still detect honeysuckle. The palate was a mix of fruit and mild oxidation, but the mid-palate and finish were short. This had been stored properly, so guess it was just a year or so past prime. DRINK UP!

Spouse and I shared this while relaxing overlooking the Oregon coast. Absolutely no complaints but the wine was a little simple orchids, honey and quince.

Strong green apple and pear flavors with chalky minerality. Nice honey flavors and hints of golden raisins, but the fruit feels a bit old to me. I wonder if I would have liked this a little bit better when it was younger—even the acid seemed a bit tired to me? I found it to be a bit brighter in the Zalto White wine glass compared to the Riedel Loire glass. It was very pleasant and had all the appropriate characteristics for a Loire Chenin Blanc, but, to me, not profound and it lacked pop. Good match with the Mushroom and herb salad from Goldstein’s Daring Parings.

A deep golden colour for only 5 years of age, understated stone on the nose, melon and subtle honey with green apple, soft Demi-sec and velvety texture across the mouth but crisp enough to clean up and entice. Delicious.

If this cuvee is at all representative, then the Chidaine 2015s are faring much better than the 2014s, which were already very advanced at the same time post-vintage. This shows very similarly to my last bottle two years ago - still very fresh and bright, energetic, long. Great wine.

Others described it well already. From memory - Brilliant wine. Perfect balance. Crisp, chalky on the first day, honeyed fruits, beautiful bouquet. Versatile with food.

Lovely bouquet of honeysuckle, white peach, tropical fruits, and chalk. Power, finesse, and beauty. Tremendous acid makes the 1.5 RS all but imperceptible. Seductive, inflection-changing texture, bracing middle and back, unclockable finish. The wine begs for at least a decade to evolve and will likely improve. 94-95...96?

Favorite Loire producer year in, year out. Crisp but not abrasive acids, lovely white flower, honey, slate with just hint (and I mean just a minimal hint) of RS. LOVELY

Absolutely superb Habert. Beautifully honeyed orchard fruits but cut nicely by chalky minerals that grip and cleanse the palate. Firmly in the demi-sec domain this vintage but with lovely balance and acidity. Excellent showing.

Wowzer. This was pleasant and fresh on night one, but turned into a different wine on night two. Explosively mineral and vibrant; a real head-turner. Just the barest hint of sweetness provides the perfect foil to the intense acidity. Tasting this, you would never have guessed it was from a "hot" year.

Classic Chidaine/ Clos Habert - easy to drink, assertive but soft edges; chalk, mineral, tart, crisp.
