Tremendous depth and expression. Still young, but already showing excellent flavor intensity. Tight column of bubbles. Mix of orchard and citrus notes. Terrific.

Lemons, limes, almond and a touch of salt on the nose. Great mousse, creamy mouthfeel and vibrant citrus fruits with more salt on the finish. Really good, tastes amazing now but I’m sure it has lots more to show.

Very fresh with lemon, iodine, seashell and crushed granite. Some apples, just hints of dough. Relatively lively mousse. Good lenght. Very good but needs a bit more time to develop that lovely whipped cream character.

Lovely. Nose of macintosh apples, pears, caramel. Sharp and crisp, lovely acidity and an expansive mouthfeel. Long finish, some earthy notes. Tart apple.

Butter, gooseberries and dairy products on the nose. Forest floor. Fried lemons and yellow apples. The palate is enormous in many aspects. An explosive power and concentration, Focused and razor sharp. Finish is at least 30 seconds long. 50+5+13+15+8 (91p)

Very fresh with lime, lemon, iodine, light smoke and hints of cream. On the palate lively mousse and fresh fruit - citrus, green apples, quince and some freshly cut grass. Very mineral with chalk and seasalt. Fresh and long. Young but very good and some upside with a few years in the cellar. Reminiscent of the 2008 when young.

Sunday BBQ (Chicago, IL): Have been all over the place with this wine, but I think that it's mostly shut down now. Fresh and bright, but just not overall showing very much. Some green apple, lime, and malic tones now, but not giving anything else up. Hope that the structure loosens up with age.

Svært konsentrert og tett frukt, med preg av sitroner, grønne epler og epleskall. Masse kalk og en svak kaffetone. Kanskje litt kort, men det er jo ferske saker. Lovende..

Hanzell dinner at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): Again, I liked this a little more on the nose than the palate. Some really pleasant lemon curd and almond tones here. On the palate, it doesn't seem as well-integrated as I remember it being the last few times I had it -- there is more acidity than the stuffing than hold. There's a little bitterness on the finish that pokes out more than it should, too. Decent enough, perhaps we caught this at a bad time?

Domaine Bizot Collection Wine Dinner: PNP into Champagne flute and then immediately switched to white wine glass (“Root” day): Medium lemon to the eyes.
Highly dense and concentrated on the nose with juicy stone fruits like apricots, citrus fruits and white flowers. Some subtle hints of ginseng extract.
Powerful follow through on the palate as well. High minerality. Round but also impressive grip and focus. Finishes tight.
Great Champagne to start the dinner. 92-93 points.

2015 Terre Nere (Chicago, IL): I thought that this bottle showed better than another recent experience with this wine. The nose here has a really attractive note of red apples, as well as some of those classic champagne flavours. The palate isn't too bracing or acidic (though it certainly is more so than the 2002 Gimonnet SC I had just tasted before). Nice chalkiness on the back end, as well as a good hit of acidity.

Some blinds and non-blinds (Chicago, IL): Sometimes, I become uncertain whether or not I truly like Pierre Péters, but then there are wines like this that bring me back to the fold. Fresh and vibrant, the touch of almondy sweetness on the palate melds nicely with the chalky minerality on the back end. Nicely concentrated, this has the acidity I want in a champagne, but without any sharpness that leaves your enamel stripped.

Even from the limited number I've tasted so far, 2012 is shaping up as a top Champagne vintage. This is an excellent Pierre Péters. Disgorged December 2016. Dosage is 4 grams per litre. The assembly of this cuvée is from four single vineyard sites of the Côtes de Blancs (Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant and Oger). A lovely bouquet, citrus and pears, with meadow flowers, yellow apples, blanched almonds and a little brioche autolysis. However, overall, pure, clean and lifted. On palate, the Blanc de Blancs is surprisingly accessible and open. Elegant and well balanced. It's ripe, rich and full, with citric, orchard and touches of tropical fruit notes. There is though good definition and energy with chalky minerals on the long finish. Very drinkable now, I doubt it'll make really old bones but I'm sure it'll improve with 3-4+ years bottle age.
