Still drinking well. Dark fruits, peat, a little earth. Well balanced, well integrated tannins, medium finish. Although characteristics relatively static, should be ok for 4/5 years.

to be honest from the beginning the wine had still a little bit dusty tannins and alcohol wasn´t perfectly integrated but this Le Cupole delivered a lot of emotions. intense nose of ripe red pulp fruits and blackberry. mouth is delighted with a melting mix of plum, blackberries, pepper, mild chilli a bit of dark chocolate and a soft lemon peel. very balanced with a long finish with lime and blackberries notes. it starts to be in the drinking window but it could be even better in the next 2 years.

A blend of Merlot (48%), Cabernet Franc (42%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Harvested in 36 separate pickings from 29 September until 28 October. Fermented in stainless steel vats for 12 days, aged for 8 months in French oak barriques (1, 2 and 3 years old), followed by another 11 months in cement tanks. Bottled in March 2016. 14% alcohol. Total production 55,500 bottles.
Still relatively youthful, somewhat translucent and quite deep and dark ruby red color. Somewhat restrained and understated nose with aromas of earth, fresh dark berries, some graphite, light blackcurrant tones and a hint of alcohol. The wine feels youthful, savory and quite acid-driven on the palate with a medium-plus body and flavors of redcurrants, blood, some brambly raspberries, a little bit of fresh red plum, a hint of sour cherry bitterness and a woody touch of pencil shavings. The overall feel is enjoyably dry, firm and quite structured, thanks to the high acidity and medium tannins that slowly pile up on the gums. The finish is quite dry, somewhat grippy and moderately long with flavors of fresh redcurrants and ripe lingonberries, some woody notes of pencil shavings, light crunchy notes of fresh red plums and blackcurrants, a little bit of sour sour berry bitterness, a hint of licorice root and a lactic touch of strawberry yogurt.
A surprisingly fresh, balanced and enjoyable effort for the lousy vintage - even though the nose was quite underwhelming and didn't promise much. Otherwise this was an enjoyable faux-Bdx Super-Tuscan. Nothing too memorable, but nothing disappointing either. Going still very strong and while drinking well now, most likely will continue to improve for a good handful of years - at least until the subtly lactic touch from the aftertaste disappears. All in all, quite nice.

Revisited a year down the line. Medium ruby. Strawberries/ raspberries on the nose. Medium bodied. Similar palate, a little marzipan added. A little more impressed with this wine than when last tasted.

Caveat emptor on 2014 in Tuscany. Decanted two hours before tasting. Deep, clear purple color. Appealing nose of strawberry and cassis. On the palate, primary black fruit is carrying the day, with a shortish finish and limited tannins. Well crafted, but a little disappointing compared to other vintages.

Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. I let it breathe for 2 hours. Drank next to 2013 Limerick Lane "1023". Nice and mellow but mouthcoating tannins. Not as concentrated as higher end Cali bordeaux blend. But good for summer. Some of the professional wine descriptions are over the top nonsense in terms of flavor profile. You're just not going to get a ton of fruit in European wines, so you won't taste any "cherry and sweet spice". I see notes below for menthol but I didn't get that at all.

Color picota. Nariz golosa, con fruta roja en sazón y, hierbas aromáticas sobre un fondo especiado. En boca tiene buen ataque, tanino firme, bien de acidez, textura algo terrosa y bastante longitud.

Medium bodied. Pleasant enough. Slightly sweet tinge. Not sure how much life left in it. Famous wine writer suggests 2027 which I find surprising but we will see.

Cherry menthol and charcoal on the nose. Hints of licorice as well.
After 20 minutes: bright acidity, deeper fruit, mineral and granite. Loads of tannins and a woody finish. Finish is touch cherry.
With black pepper rubbed smoked pork, the wine really comes into its own with a mature, layered flavor. The tannins are mellowed out, the cherry comes through with a bracing line of minerality.

Wine Watch Ft. Lauderdale - Passopisciaro Tasting. - This wine is the second label of Tenuta di Trinoro. It is a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. This blend has a medium ruby color and a nose of florals, cherries, and menthol. Tastes of black berries, cherry liquor, and licorice. Its mouthfeel is a little thin, and the wine is moderate in complexity. Finish is short to medium in length, with fine tannins. Nothing special - my least favorite Franchetti wine.

High-class wine, though not a blockbuster in size. Dried cherry, cassis, and blood orange with lip-smacking acidity and ample tannins. Complex nose with green pepper, roses, and tobacco. I like this blend with cab franc providing freshness and merlot and cabernet providing weight. Drinks well now, but tannins are a bit on the heavy side and there is plenty of room for the flavors to develop. Excellent value! I should buy more of this.

Bocca dinamica e piacevole. Vino intenso e concentrato, finale lungo e soddisfacente. Vale ampiamente il prezzo (22 euro).

I didn’t find this bottle to be anything special. Good fruit but lacking complexity/depth. Reasonably good for the price but not comparable to other Tuscans with WS rating =93.

Medium bodied Tuscan blend. Easy drinking, soft with red fruit flavors. I don't get the 93 point rating from WS - but still an enjoyable wine that went well with pasta.

I let this sit overnite because we never got around to drinking it. This is not an overly complex wine; kind of thin and drinks more like a Nebbiolo than a Tuscan blend. It’s light, with a fruity bite on the palate yet is quite drinkable and has a smooth finish. Probably a lot better with only a 2-3 Hour decant verses 18. I have another bottle and am going to let it sit a little longer.

First encounter with this wine and bought strictly off the the Wine Spectator 93 point rating. Pop 'n poured and drank over a couple of hours. This has soaring cab franc aromas with dark cherry, cigar box, herbs and leather that lead way to a dark fruited, leafy and gardenia floral (thanks Blake, power of suggestion but once you see it (or taste it or associate it), it is hard to ignore ;) palate that carries good acidity and lingers pleasantly on the finish.

Medium dark red. Pretty intense nose, perfumed red cherry and violet nose, hints of cassis and coffee. Delicious floral red fruit flavours and a slightly rich dry finish.
Seems a bit like a really nice Napa Merlot.

Deep, dark garnet, opaque in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, black currants & blackberries with overtones of dusty/earthy & floral notes, some cigar box notes of cedar & tobacco, spices, tar, anise, cocoa, minerals & a hint of vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied, with very good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of sweet dark cherries, blackberries & plums with dark cocoa, spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit and structure to continue developing further with additional aging.

High expectations given the WS top 100 selection and its 93 rating . I opened this and gave it several hours to mellow. The immediate notes are that this wine has a dark color with flavors that were up front with no pretense. The immediate flavors hit hard and are made of un-riped cherries almost tart(ish) which quickly surrendered to mulberry fruit and some earthy flavors which include almost bell pepper in the finish.

香气是能闻出熟甜的风格的,可是这口感也忒酸了点儿哦,陈个八年十年喝也许有更清楚的判断,放心这酒能撑得住的。

Nice value for the money
Had with pizza on the grill - good combo.
Fruit forward Super Tuscan (Merlot, Cab Franc, Cabernet Sauv) wine with flavors of blueberry, cherry and raspberry and cinnamon spice
Moderate complexity from the grape blend. Solid fruit, but not overpowering.
Doesn't deserve the 93 points from WS, but nice QPR - will need to buy some more bottles.
