Helles Rubinrot.

A Medlar lunch (Medlar, London): Dense ruby. A touch of cherry. Nicely rich on the nose, before and after the shake. An attractive blend of earthy Gevrey and red fruited Fourrier gloss. Needs a really good shake. Still a sense of reductive gloss. Some density here. Long and fresh. ****

Not sure with this one. Clearly very young and not ready to drink but I’m just not sure how good it will be in the future. Leave for 5 years and cross your fingers. Pleasant but on this showing not worth what they are charging

Restaurant purchase; beautiful wine; the nose is super expressive with bright red berry fruits, very floral, hints of sauvage and earth; the palate has very good concentration and excellent balance; simply pure pleasure to drink. Lots of upside.

Some Wines from the 2018 La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2015 Burgundy (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Similar size as the regular Gevrey with same quality of red fruit, but more complex Gevrey style in that it has a more noticeable dose of earth. It thereby comes across as slightly reserved and less sweet, and there are light tannins that need to be resolved. Excellent, better in 5+ years.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. All black fruit with good intensity and elegant textures, almost Chambolle-like. There is a lot in reserve here, so cellar for 5+ years for more weight to emerge.

La Paulée de SF Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): Similar to the Gevrey VV but more lifted and intense. Wow, so much richness with spice that goes on for days. A lot of volume. 93-94

heady nose with spices and red cherries
Meaty and savoury on the palate. Firm earthy finish. Long
Dense and intense. Lots of potential
