Buttery, oaky, alcohol, very limited chardonnay flavor profile. Too bad, Mondavi always a favorite, Napa chardonnay always a favorite, this, not so good.

Medium lemon in the glass, pronounced aromas and flavors, nose leads with citrus, palate is dry with ripe fruit, lemon, lime, tropical fruit, pineapple, butter/cream notes, sweet vanilla, medium body, medium + finish, high alcohol, medium acidity. Classic new world Napa mass market chardonnay.
WSET 3 tasting

This tasting note was done independently of my 9/26/2017 tasting of the same wine and vintage. The very different outcome might mean that the first bottle was flawed. The bottle tasted on 1/25/2019 was about 16 degrees C, the nose was fruit forward and the taste nicely layered, although not very complex and a little on the sour side; pair with chicken

Nice floral bouquet. Fruit and oak on the palate. Short to medium length. What this really lacked was any complexity. It's anything but Burgundian. There's no subtlety. It's a good wine, just nothing stands out and feels very 'mass market'. Not one for laying down. Drink now if you have any.

Regrettably, most Napa Valley Chardonnays have become a marketer's commodity, styled for the sweet-, oak- and fruit-loving crowd. I picked this bottle up because it was on sale for $13 at a local liquor store. Would Bubba (Robert Mondavi) have liked this wine? I don't think so. Yes, he liked oak and the restrained fruit that Napa soils can offer, but the sweetness? I don't think so. One of the commenters wrote that this wine is "Burgundian". Huh? Interestingly, it reminds me more of Bubba's light, lively and slightly sweet Chenin Blancs of the 1960s and '70s.

Pale green gold in colour; nose of butter, lemon and vanilla; palate follows nose with beautiful butter custard notes; lovely, elegant palate - not overly oaked; great wine - very Burgundian

14.5% alcohol, medium foil, might be real cork, bright yellow, fast legs, tasted at ca 20 C; nose of fruit, citrus & alcohol, taste is sharp, a little sour on the sides of the tongue and a little bitter on the back, slight effervescence, finish not pleasent -- bitter/sour/sharp; would not recommend

For the price and the quality this is near my top of list for this season. It has a few years now under its belt and this wine is simply put all you would expect of a modern chardonnay at a price under $ 20.

Nose of lemon and mineral. Quite acidic, flavour is mineral and lemon. More lemon as it opens up. Not much complexity.

Generic tasting chardonnay marked by tart minerality with light butter and oak notes.
