Black tea, red cherry, rose, earthy bramble smells. Pungent. Lighter in the mouth but still a good fruit concentration. Fine tannins and high toned fruit. Long elegant finish. Excellent.

15 Clos du Roi, faiveley Mushrooms, leaves and cherry. Mint, slightly corky. Fresh but undergrowth with a little mouldy cork. Cherry, and black burnt tannins. Slightly corked, but still a joy to drink. 91. Thank you Duck.

Wow. Great fruit, married to good structure and fine tannins. Great mouthfeel and a very decent finish. This was drinking way above its price point. The chef was very impressed!

Saturday late night wine swap session. Aired in bottle for about 1.5 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Nose medium intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, air red fruits - cranberries, raspberries, bit of rustic earth funk. Developing. On the palate, dry, crunchy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of stony minerality, airy red fruits - cranberries, raspberries, strawberries (riper on day 2), slight rustic chalky mineral earth, plant sap. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Faiveley reliable as always. Only a hint of rusticity pointing to the appellation. Could develop some over the next few years, but good to drink already.

Pretty red fruit nose, piercing cranberry and raspberry. Rather fuller in the mouth than the smell suggests, medium bodied, medium acid, a bit of earthy mushroom. Relatively short finish, a touch of acetone too. Very good.

Give it 2-3 hours in the decanter and it fills out the mid palate and lifts from the glass. Great value in a vintage that shows how good it was at all levels of the quality spectrum.

Strawberry syrup and plum, a bit of wood smoke. Medium bodied, a bit of heat and spice in the mouth. Long satisfying finish. Very juicy but quite simple.

First from case of 12. lightly chilled not decanted. Bright colour. Sappy crunchy fruit on nose. V young. Refreshing fruit on palate tightly wound. Structure very apparent but sappy fruit behind. Gods intensity for Mercury. Certainly drinkable if you have plenty but will improve over 5 years. Delicious with pork tenderloin and mushrooms with thyme.

Needs 2 hours in the decanter. This is in a great spot with bright, crunchy cranberry fruit spiked with rugged, life-affirming tannins. The wine is vibrant and fat but held together with a cool, taut mineral underlay. A little maltiness gives a profoundly satisfying warmth to the finish. This is lovely and a bargain at £30.

A bouquet of fresh cherry and floral notes, with subtle oak and spices. There is ripe fruit on the palate, with some sweetness, medium acidity and a good amount of ripe tannins on the finish. This can be enjoyed now, but will clearly improve with time.

Stewed raspberry and cream. Light to medium bodied, just enough acid. Quite rich and fruity in the mouth, a touch of oak. Satisfying Pinot Noir, perhaps lacking acid.

Sweet and clean in the decanter. Red fruit, cranberry and raspberry, quite a rich smell. A bit of alcoholic heat but not heavy. Light bodied and high acid, a touch of soft wood on the finish. Medium length finish. Very good. Refreshing.

Raspberry, red currant, strawberry syrup. Initially very rubbery but blew off after half an hour or so. Light to medium bodied, not too much acid, some iron or mineral tastes. Fresh fruit finish.

Kevin Zrlay Red Burg: Nose: red cherry, red raspberry liquor, a little sweet earth Palate: high toned raspberry, strawberry, a little sweet strawberry to offset the tartness of the fruit. Structure: light to medium body. medium to high acidity. very modest but fine tannin Finish: lengthy fruit finish.
Fruit and acid are in balance here. Tannin a little lacking versus the high toned fruit here for me. A good wine that can age. A bit light and high toned for my palate.
Will wait at least another 5 years for my own bottles.
Not great QPR for $40 IMHO.

Nice Mercury - got better after some time open ( 3 hours ) Strawberry , mineral , elegant and not heavy. My only bottle ( 2015 ) but have bought more Faiveley Mercurey. Next time I will wait a bit longer before tasting it or 3-4 hours on carafel.
A wow Mercurey. Cherry and flowers, with a nice mineral spine. Some spice and saline. Very good. I suspect that this might close down soon. For my taste, drink from 2025 onwards

Maturing quite nicely now. Dark cherry nose with a hint of blood/iron and violets. Lovely viscosity, more cherry and iron, sous bois. Great balance, super fine tannins with fairly intense acidity. Definitely has a good few years left but is also drinking nicely now.

Drinking well already. This will definitely benefit from a few years, but has lovely smokey bacon flavour, fine tannins and balanced acidity. Very pleased.

The nose is vibrant and detailed with notes of pomegranate, raspberry, cherry and mineral. It has excellent flesh overlaying a stony base. There's more richness than you tend to see from this bottling yet the wine is light on its feet. It has excellent cut and really fans out on the finish. Possibly the best young Clos du Roy from Faiveley that I have seen.
