Black tea, red cherry, rose, earthy bramble smells. Pungent. Lighter in the mouth but still a good fruit concentration. Fine tannins and high toned fruit. Long elegant finish. Excellent.

15 Clos du Roi, faiveley Mushrooms, leaves and cherry. Mint, slightly corky. Fresh but undergrowth with a little mouldy cork. Cherry, and black burnt tannins. Slightly corked, but still a joy to drink. 91. Thank you Duck.

Wow. Great fruit, married to good structure and fine tannins. Great mouthfeel and a very decent finish. This was drinking way above its price point. The chef was very impressed!

Saturday late night wine swap session. Aired in bottle for about 1.5 hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Nose medium intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, air red fruits - cranberries, raspberries, bit of rustic earth funk. Developing. On the palate, dry, crunchy high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of stony minerality, airy red fruits - cranberries, raspberries, strawberries (riper on day 2), slight rustic chalky mineral earth, plant sap. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Faiveley reliable as always. Only a hint of rusticity pointing to the appellation. Could develop some over the next few years, but good to drink already.

Pretty red fruit nose, piercing cranberry and raspberry. Rather fuller in the mouth than the smell suggests, medium bodied, medium acid, a bit of earthy mushroom. Relatively short finish, a touch of acetone too. Very good.
