This bottle was pulled after 05 Araujo Eisele which was just in a lovely place and 13 RH is not far behind. A proper decant would have helped as this wine is just entering an early window for my palate. Plenty of enjoyment to be hand opening now or continued cellaring. No hard edges just hitting a stride with a touch of secondary on the horizon.

Drinking fantastic with a decant, oh so good. Red fruit with a balanced fruit and tannin profile with its oak and wood notes settling into the background. This has come along way in the past three years since I have tasted it last. This is the second wine from Abreu and it easily outshines some other headline bottlings.

Against my own advice from a few years ago to hold off to 2022+ on this wine, I opened a bottle of this and decanted for a few hours.
Still tight, very very dry tannins. This is a wine for 10+ years... holding my last bottle for 2028 (note to future self). NR for now but clearly has the stuffing to last.
Understandingly, a 2013 Moone Tsai Hillside Blend drank next to it fared much better and was more accessible and open for business.

Complex, powerful, lovely wine. No bottle sediment. Drinking BEAUTIFULLY right now, but does have the chops to continue to age. Balanced acidity, fruits, and tannins.

I think the ratings on this are spot on. It needs a ton of time - I decanted for 6 hrs, by the last glass it still was throwing off a bit of sediment at the bottom. It's definitely got the stuffing to last, but right now it needs time to uncoil a bit - just drink 2022+. Hold for now. 94-97

Big fan of Abreu wines and haven’t touched my 13’s yet, but was curious how the Rothwell Hyde wine would taste from such a great vintage. I’ve had the 12 Rothwell, which was good, but not as food as the 2010. I decided to decant this for 6 hours prior to consuming. The palate flavors and structure were all Abreu. Loved it! But the initial aroma on the nose was a little too pruney for me. This is always a nose profile that is off-putting to me. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed in the overall experience... so much so that I didn’t finish the bottle. The following night, I didn’t expect anything much from the last glass. Hold on! This was much better. That pruney note was gone and the tannins were a bit more mellow. This is a great wine now! Much happier. Will buy more.
Ive got to agree with Griffeyfan. If this is the stuff the didnt make the cut I cant wait to try the Thorevilos in 2023. Lots of minerality on the nose with no hard edges at all as it glides across the palate. Enough tannins to give it some pleasant grip. Great now but still has some considerable room to grow. Most impressive Rothwell Hyde Ive ever had.

This is the leftovers blend? Wow, hard to believe. After the initial pop of the cork the aroma of chocolate covered raspberries hit me with a hint of under ripe blueberries. Into the decanter for 30 minutes and it was already open for business it is super dark with baking spice and dark stewed fruits, a kiss of vanilla from the oak and a earthy and clean finish that lasts 30 seconds plus. just a touch of tannin but really great now. This is a great deal relatively speaking for Napa wines of this caliber. Don't hesitate to open now.

Weird. Still tannin but fruit was stewed. Just not very good

Sign me up for more leftovers! This is a last winery effort? Anyway, really good cabernet with well-integrated tannins. Medium bodied.

Drinking really well. Complex fruits with a solid backbone. Evolved nicely over 1.5 hours. This is one of my favorite every day+ wines.

Good, but not off the charts. Still early...let this rest for a few more years.
